After searching the forums for a while, I'm trying to summarise what to do to score as high as possible per game on the Metaverse: 1. Finish every game as quickly (in game turns) as possible - since points diminish with duration of game 2. Win by military conquest - because this gives the biggest bonus (more than Ascension?) 3. Build a huge military starbase array and put all my ships in the middle - since I get more points by having all my ships get their offence and
You mentioned earlier that the older generation of Tibetans is much more bitter about being under PRC control than the younger ones, and you seem to be putting forth that many Han see Tibet as a vacation destination - do you think part of this bitterness stems from that attitude? I'm interested because this trend is understandably common among smaller territories gobbled up by larger nations - when I visited Hawaii, you wouldn't imagine how many areas outside of the main tourist destinati

They must not cancel it, its precisely what a very very small minority of "protesters" want to happen. A lot of this has been caused by a Media Feeding Frenzy. The latter know perfectly well that such an issue will get emotion rolling, drama sells etc. Once the Torch moved on, people here went "back to normal", it was out of the media, and everyone got

Nequa asked:
Tian An Men 天安门 Gate of Heavenly Peace do you still call it that? or is this diffrent from were all those democraci protestors died?
Tian An Men leads into Tian Men Square, the large square in the center of Beijing. It is the gathering point for all major events, foreign government visits and anything 'big' in China. It is about 5 minutes walk from 'Xin Hua Gate' which is our equivalent of the White House and is about 15 minutes drive from t

Yesterday, I attended the ceremony at Tian An Men square to mourn the victims and injured of the earthquake. It was a very emotional time. The feeling in the whole country is of great sadness. We are watching the TV every day for news of hope in the time of darkness. I had originally wanted to write about the miracle survivors, the tragedies of the large number of people who have to chop of their arms and legs to be rescued, the high proportion of children who are victims. But I think

I love the Metaverse idea and only play Metaverse games. I also am enchanted by the many mods available - but am careful not to trip the 'cheater' flag. Is there a way to search for only ToA Metaverse compatible mods? I note that some mods have 'metaverse compatible' written in the description, but searching each mod and reading the description seems a slow way to do things. Just wondering if it can be done faster? Also, does the word 'stardock certified' also mean metaverse compatibl

Away from all this politics and earthquake sadness, some friends and I joked here in Beijing on '10 bad chinese tourist abilities' tonight over some drinks. I thought I could share them. 1. When the plane takes off, it is important to go to the toilet 20 seconds after the plane takes off while the seatbelt sign is still on. 2. On the plane, it is very important to bring as much luggage as you can. the plane likes it when you bring a huge suitcase on board. Other customers als

To ProfCS101, you posted two very passionate comments which I want to respond. Because you wrote so strongly, I have tried to be very thorough in my reply to you.
mightygoobi, your proselytizing of the Chinese government is superb, and perhaps some less intelligent Americans will believe every word.
If I may summarise the rest of your post, USA is good because it is free. China is bad because it has a dictator government and the citizens are oppressed, killed, to

There's certainly healthy and interesting political discussion here. Thank you for both the kind words and the strong criticisms. I won't fleeing the talk, and there is something more prioirity in my heart right now - obviously the earthquake - which I want to share some items a bit before we talk to Communism, Freedom, Human Rights, Government etc. It's well known that Mainland China has disputes with Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan at the high political level. From a 'common person' level

Lord Zarth asked about Taiwan: It's well known Taiwan declares themself independent from Mainland China, and Mainland China declares that Taiwan is part of China. There's plenty of debate to keep the high politics and history experts talking forever. From a more lower perspective, amongst my circle of friends and the Taiwanese I know, feelings are very warm. There's no language barrier - though Beijingers and Taiwanese will tease each other mercilessly about accent. We think t

First we have a major earthquake. Now we have flood rains. It is not nice and now there is nothing to do. But the positive spin is that I now have time to post. It's probably common knowledge now that we've had a major earthquake here. There's quite a few emergencies projects starting to address the many issues that have come up and I'm going to do my best to be involved in as much as I can. I'm probably going to be away from this forum for a while. Thank you for the comments on China - of all colours - to my forum compatriots. It sounds like there is plenty of interest in my country. I don't think I'm well qualified to answer many of your questions. I totally loved this show! And I thought it was interesting that the 'galactic slang' was Chinese. I couldn't understand what they were saying when they spoke Chinese though - and I AM Chinese. I'm sad that you're saying there won't be more shows. The movie was excellent and I thought it suggested there would be more shows. But I guess if it has to end, then it ended at a good place.
