Hit this guy with a raiding party of 8-10 small ships loaded up with lasers and he is totally toasted. Bye-bye super-dreadnought.

Jeebus! I can easily get that high an attack, but not with 200 points of defence! Do they have 5 military resources or something?

Did the special even occur where the Korx power will increase exponentially? I don't know if that just affects production or their ship abilities as well. But I do know that with that event, if you aren't careful, you can be overrun like fleas.

This type of ship, while a pain to deal with is not the real problem the Korx are also escorting their transports with escorts that have a 100+ attack.

After losing all my medium, large and huge hulled ships I cranked my military production up to 70 and any planet not producing transports were set to mass producing my revenge class attack ship (small hull 2 hyperwarp III and 6 black hole generators. I lose 10 - 15 of these ship each turn but hell I'm drowning in them.

They must have some but I haven't found them yet, they still have a large area that is beyond my current range.

I always turn off tech, diplomatic and influence victories, all this has done is force me to avoid direct confrontation with these ships and hit only transport fleets. I've also did an end round through Torian's space and took ten planets well behind the main lines which accomplished desired effect of relieving the pressure on my core worlds. This will take longer but I will come out on top after all its the Korx not as if they were the Dregin.

Meh. That's actually kinda average.

How many mining bases do they have? You need to do some serious recon and, if fighting these guys, take out those first. Then, you need to dodge around those and take planets.

Oh, and those ships can be beaten. You need fleets with medium hulls, heavy on weapons and engines. The result is you can get a fleet with a much higher attack rating and easily take out the ship in the first round of fighing.

Holy Carp! design some small ships with mass driver defense and beam for attck. make sure you research the last miniaturization tech

At the time the Korx attacked I had mediums with photon III and 20 Armour defense, large with antimatter I and 60 Armour defense and devastated the Korx fleets and took around 15 planets from them.

There was a lull for about 7 turns when the Korx then hit me with these escort doing a hundred plus damage each and those dreadnoughts. It was also at this time that their soldering went from 2 to 7 (I'm eleven) and for the next ten turns it was I lost all my mediums and large hull ships and while the Korx was taking my boarder worlds I retook them the next turn Transport with 1 advance module and Hyperwarp III engines 70mp.

I then mass produced a small hull (Beam was considered but I only laser III at the time and I had just stole the Black Hole generator from the Korx, as Armour had proven to be useless at this time I did not bother with it.

Net results in 15 turns I have taken 60 worlds, destroyed 100+ transport, escorts and other units, have cut off another 20 korx planets from their core worlds. The Korx have asked for peace twice and are now being dog piled by the other AIs.

At the start of this war the Korx ranged acrossed 3/4 of the map (Having eliminated the Terrans, Iconians and taken territory from the Dregin, Torians and Yor) and I was in the lower left corner with 25 worlds. Which means no matter how much range I put on a ship it will not reach all of their territory. Of course the first thing I do at the start of any war is take out all the AIs starbases. Those that were in range (2 economic, 1 morale and 1 research and an assorted number of economy and military starbases. I have yet to find any military resource bases that would explain that high attack/defense the korx have in this game and theres not much left to explore.
Oh just to make it clear its not the high attack or defense that I found surprising its finding ships with with both.

Oh and through all this I have 1 military resource with full modules in place.

Yikes. I would try to offer what advice my weak-player-butt could, but... huh. That thing is incredible. And three quarters of a gigantic map? Ehhh... I guess the best thing to be had would be smoking their economy. The escorts you talk about and this dreadnought probably dig somewhat deeply into their economy... well, if they weren't an incredibly capitalistic society. Good luck with.. eh, that, I guess. :/

Hell that's just a pathetic flea without a fleet, and if it's on a gigantic map with abundant planets then it's not gonna do a thing to its economy, send a fleet of frigates and get that of the bottom of your shoe.
Well I have them pressed back into a corner and their economy is in shambles, I have gone through all their territory and they don't have and it looks like they never did have any military resources so I don't know how they managed those ships unless its the bonuses they get on this level(this is my second game at this level).

Good thing about this is I have most of the tech tree completed without having done the research. I've stolen just about everything from the Korx.

Main worry now is the Torians and the Arceans who were supplying me with ships but now that the Korx are no longer a major threat my warm relations with them is now dropping like a stone.

It got pretty brutal there for a bit but in the end those dreadnought didnt help them much
