ship battle

pg 48

In draft 3, page 48, it is described that a ship with 1d6 attack, 1d2 defense will lose almost every time against a ship with 1d4 attack, 1d4 defense. I disagree.

the ship with 1d6 attack could win on attack but d4 will always slaughter it if d6/d2 is on defense.

ähm sorry thats all not correctly you must see with kind of waepon and devendsystems are both ship have and howmuch hitpoints than you can perhaps try to count. This system have a lot of varriations when the 1d6 have missels
but the 1d4 have pointdef maby no hitpoint comes thrugh when it habe shilds than goodbye all hitpoins will count and so on and so on somethimes i think all useres here don't read realy what is wirthen here on tons of informations

Why don't you try that battle. There is a good simulator at www.galciv.com

Here is the Link.

But there is only one typ of weapon and defense available.

The entire point of that example in the manual is to show how weapon and defense types can change the results of a battle. In that example, the 6/2 ship has phasers and shields, and the 4/4 ship has missiles and shields. The 4/4 ship wins because shields are good against phasers, but not against missiles.

i think the simulator can't show something only that a attacing ship mostly win when his weapon is more than the dev of the deffender ship and only when they have the same weapon this means nothing ok perhaps good for GC1 you can't creat your own ships in GC1 but GC2 means that you can even loosing when you don't have the right weapon and deffense for the attacing or deffending ship..this is the reason that stardock ..or the betatesters say you have to know your enemie...specialy his ships athervice you can lose very fast entire battlegroups
