Best Buy Preorder?

I'm really looking forward to the game, and was hoping to be able to obtain some of the extras via a preorder. I'm pretty much limited to buying the game from Best Buy (for various reasons). Although I've noticed people here mention that one could preorder from Best Buy, I've been unable to locate the game on the Best Buy website. Is the company participating the the preorders, or do I just need to physically go to the store in order to place one?

You'd have to check with your local store on whether or not you can preorder through them.

Well you are lucky today, I work at Best Buy and actually have to go to work in an hour, I get off at 8pm EST. I'm really freaked out about GC II and I'll check up on the preorder for you. Myabe after I get some info on your store I can get some more exact info for you maybe sunday. Best Buy has gotten really bad with PC games latley, even though I work there I probably buy half my PC games elsewhere b/c of their tendancy to A) not stock minor titles B) get fairly late shipments of less popular titles C) concentrate on the super popular overadvertized games.

The game will be in Best Buy, but I'm not sure that Best Buy takes pre-orders at all....  You can order the game direct from Stardock as well.

I just got home from Best Buy, I checked our inventory system and there isnt anything at all in there "right now", doesnt mean it wont be, but it does mean we arent preordering anywhere in our district at this time (my district is pretty much all of SC, some of NC and some of GA in the US). Not sure about other districts but can find out if anyone wants me to look. We do have different marketing and merchandise selections in certain sections of the country where they deem it "profitable" enough to do so. I can usually see games we will be receiving pretty far before release but didnt even see GC II in there anywhere. The only game I saw was "Galactic Civ" and it was deleted from inventory a while ago . We need to keep good games in stock longer. As Avatar Yarlen said, I would go direct through them so that the devs get the most money, support the makers of goodness. The game probably wont arrive at Best Buy right after release anyway if their track record on "non-superhype" games holds up, but you never know.

P.S. Avatar, I dont know if you were refering to taking preorders of GCII or any PC game but if you were talking about PC games in general, we do pre-orders on some games, however, they are usually only for the big hyped up releases that BB believes will make them alot of money.

I see. Just a little disappointed as I really wanted to pre-order the game and receive the extra stuff. Unfortunately, I need to use my BB gift cards to purchase the game. I guess I'll just wait until it's released.
