Upgrading still broken

All useful items in the ship designer (engine, weapons, etc) disappear when upgrading a ship. I've reported this before, but it's still broken. The items cannot be selected on the 3D model. They are blank squres in the list of things on the ship. There's no way to delete them, and therefore no way to upgrade a ship. Is this only happening to me or what?

I think this has been fixed somewhat in internal builds, but it's still being worked on (i.e,. works more for me than it used to. .

i've noticed that upgrading works if u create and upgrade a design in the same game wit out exiting. however, if u DO save and exit and try to upgrade a design, the hull is white and the symptoms as stated above occur

Yeah, I've created new ships in my current game, then tried to upgrade them a few turns later without loading or anything, and it is still broken. As a result, I don't put any time into the ship builder because my awesome ship designs are lost every time a new tech comes around.
