Reduce the cost of undiscovered lower tech when higher tech is acquired

When is higher level tech is acquired (via trade, gift, invasion etc). The research cost of related undiscovered lower tech should be reduced to reflect the fact of somekind of "reverse engineering" is involved.

The discount can be related to the different in tech level

e.g. level 3 tech gives 10% discount to undiscovered level 2 tech, and 20% to undiscovered level 1 tech. The effect can be cummulative. e.g both level 3 and level 2 tech when acquired, give 30% discount to level 1 tech. (20% from level 3, 10% from level 2)

Whats the point of the lower tech unless it has a branch of it on the tree. Seems frivolous to me bro.

Many techs give bonuses even the " lower" ones, such as diplomacy or trade. In these cases, you really want the lower tech also.

It seems to me that these should be reworked so that the total bonus is culmalative so that when you get a higher tech you get all the prerequisites; though it might be nice to prevent you from getting really high techs without the prerequisites.

I'd like to have an option to hide lower level undiscovered techs. In many of the lines the old ones become completely useless when you discover the new ones, so I'd rather not have them clutter up the screen and possibly take up research points if I select it without realizing I had a later one.

I would go the other way and make it impossible to achieve any tech without previously or simultaneously achieving its prerequisites.

Yeah, making the prerequisite techs required would be nice. I believe that's the way Civilization works. Pardon me for saying the C word .This game roxors civ's boxors anyway!

I am guessing that this will require them to rework all the AI's because they're notorious for just trading stuff amongst themselves.
