Infos about GalCiv II b4 buying it!

HI, i have been a big fan playing Intergalactic Strategy Games. Ever since i played Pax Imperia Emient Domain, Imperium Galactia I & II and MoO2 & 3. I wasnt happy with Imperium Galactia since only get one planet per systems. And for MoO2 was getting old samn as Pax, couldnt stand turn based in combat simulation it was very boring and lame. MoO3 wasnt bad in combat system but lack of 3D environments and couldnt even refit star bases and the ships that was very sad. After viewing some details and screen shots i wanted to ask this first...

1)How big is the galaxy, what the maximum system?
2)Can you colonize more than one planets per system (saw screenshot my guess you can)
3)Is space battle carry out real time strategy? And is it 3D environment?? If so besure to have watch mode and let both sides work this out without clicking and pointing!
4)In the RTS combat are there gonna be any admiral with traits and crew experiences?
5)How big is the RSD gonna get? MoO3 has up to lvl 50 in six different fields.
6)How the ground battle are carry out? is it like MoO3 with hardly any actions or like Imperium Galactica II with ground shaking actions.
7)And what about the Espionage and Bio-warefares.

1) In the current beta the largest map contains 196 sectors, each of which may contain up to 3 stars (as far as I've seen). The devs said that the maps are toned down in size for the beta, but as I don't play on the largest size myself I don't know if they've raised them to final levels yet or not.

2) Yes, planets are shown on the galaxy map and you can colonize any habitable planets in any system that are not already colonized. And multiple races can own planets in the same system.

3) No. Battles are automatically calculated based on the involved ship's/fleet's attack, deense, and HP values. The combat viewer is basically just eye candy.

4) See (3). However, ships do gain XP from fighting and winning battles, though I'm uncertain as to the effects of gaining a level (never used the same ship continuously enough to do that personally).

5) The research tree in GC2 is a streamlined linear tree with paths for various technologies/improvements/disciplines. The general idea has been to limit interdependency and make every tech useful for something (instead of as "speed bumps" to better techs).

6) Ground invasions are determined as a straight numbers game, with your troops vs the defending populace, adjusted by various factors (defense improvements, overall technology, superior forces, invasion method, etc).

7) From what I've seen espionage is a simple affair mostly like it was in GC1. You simply set a spending amount on each race, and depending on that amount you will get information of varying detail about the race, and possibly steal technologies. You can also spend money on destablizing a race, which decreases their morale and gives increased chances that their planets will defect if they do not put extra effort into keeping their people happy.

Xp in battle can upgrade health and i think to some extent weapons and defnce but from what i have seenits mostly a health upgrade, the biggest maps are big enough for a fairly long game and make for some great gameplay, especially if your playing against a couple of good computer opponents, however i wouldnt mind them going any bigger and i hope the devs decide to add a size above gigantic when all is said and done.

as for deciding to buy the game or not i highly recommend buying it, as of right now in its current state with all bugs included the game is looking out to be one of the greats and is only going to get better once the devs add new features, fix bugs and apply polish to everything

Redindus, you might go and download GalCiv 1's demo if you like. But know one thing: GalCiv2 is a whole lot more, even seeing its beta state!

Ground invasions are reportedly getting an overhaul at some point but there's no info on what form they will take. It is unlikely that you will be given any control over the troops (past the current invasion tactic selection) so the re-working will be mostly cosmetic (animation/video etc).
