Logon Studio tutorial – three shutdown massages

Turn them on

Though in my opinion Logon Studio is not an ideal tool to build a logon, still most of us use Logon Studio to make a logon. Because, it is easier to use Logon Studio for a logon than to write its script manually from the scratch.
As I’ve seen for a long time that most of the logons that are made with Logon Studio don’t have any shutdown massages, I decided to make a tutorial on how to include those three shutdown massages in a logon that is created with Logon Studio.

Open the Logon Studio → click on the ‘new’ button for creating a new one → ‘Create New Logon’ dialogue box will come → fill the necessary fields → click on ‘Create’ → click ‘OK’ button that appears on the ‘Warning’ dialogue box.
Now Logon Studio Editor will open.

Insert pictures in the top, center and the bottom panel. Optionally you can omit the top panel. You can omit dividers also. All these depend on your choice.
Select the ‘Center Panel’ now → look at the ‘Properties – Center Panel’.

Select the item ‘Logo Picture’ → a small box will then appear at the right-side of the column  → click on it  → ‘Edit for Picture’ dialogue box will appear  → select the option ‘Use Picture’ → click on ‘Browse’ → select a picture found most suitable for your logon → click ‘Open’ → click ‘OK’ → save your logon.

Restart your machine and see the difference between your logon and the one prepared in this method.

Some of my logons I created in the above described method. For example, 'Goodbye Windows', 'Devdas - a saga of love', 'Mystic', 'WindowsXP Pirated Edition - All rights violated', 'Mystic Rebirth'.

On my way to check out the difference.
But I thought I'd let you know....I would have settled for 1 massage.

Using this method must beware of image size for logo, if is to small text for messages will not appear in one line. If using this method is sometomes hard to find something to use as logo that suits logon. To have text appear in one line image should be 300x whatever for default text size.

Exactly. 300px is recommended. Download one of the logons I've already mentioned. Install it. Apparently you won't find any Windows logo. But, there is one. Look at the 'Bitmap_123.bmp'. This is the bitmap file that has been used as Windows logo.

Verify the size of the logo you've used.

Himangshu, I use UIFILE tweak to show messages, don't have to worry about logo. By default LogonStudio sets the content margins for welcome and shutdown messages to zero. They apply based on the location of the logo but you do not need a logo when add content margin values in UIFILE. Using this method you can have them apply anywher on screen you want to have them.

I also do so. Actually there we use a 1px. x 1px. bitmap as the logo picture and it's impossible to view on the logon screen. Search for 'Bitmap_123.bmp', you will find a 1px. x 1px. image file.

This tutorial is actually intended to the beginners. Another intension of this tutorial is to make everyone aware of the fact that logon studio has the ability to show those shutdown massages. Many of us have a wrong conception that it cannot show those massages.
