Work

"I guess the Honeymoon's over."

Work went extremely well Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. In case you don't know, I am a therapist for an autistic child. He's eight years old, and he has a comparatively high-functioning form of autism. He can speak, read, write, do math, etc. He has trouble with speach though, and often he has to be prompted to talk. His social skills are also extremely lacking. Most of the time, he's a great kid. Sometimes, however, he throws tantrums where he hits, kicks, screams, bites, throws, or whatever else he feels like doing. Today he threw two such tantrums. It's very wearying when he behaves like that, because it takes a lot of effort to restrain him. I was amused today thinking today that this kid is the closest thing I have to a boyfriend. We dance together and he likes to try to grope me (He likes soft things.). Haha. We do dance a lot, he needs the physical movement to stimulate his body so he can sit still and pay attention. It's a lot of fun. Another thing about this kid, is that he has every toy ever made. Honestly. I find something new everytime I come. Today I found an accordian, an accordian people. I have a lot of fun with the toys. I really do have an amazing job. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
