Race specific technologies

Its probably been suggested before and I bet it has, also I am back was just, 'unaware' of GalCiv-2 and ya'll are coming along with your product nicely.

Anyway I propose that perhaps for expansion, whatnot a small compact, individual tech tree for every GalCiv race. Their is one branch for every subject of technology like warfare and industry, etc. Some races have alittle more fruit on a branch than another but end up with about around 11-16. Not all the races are balanced but they're unique due to their way of life.

The racial technologies are unlocked by a long advancement in some route of the general tech tree. Best said a racial technology is a modification or complete upgrade, epicly new device or structure that is marvelous. The Technologies are related to the species culture, history and hostile or cordial experineces with other races.

The Yor's cybernetic bodies have allowed them to easily adapt to all diverse environments across the galaxy meaning after extensive research, they can terraform and clash on variety soils simpler than most of the civilizations.

IDK. Lets hear it community.

All the races in the game will have the same tech tree, but different races will start with different techs.

really think that your on to something that could be implemented in an expansion set or something i mean isnt it kinda strange that completely different races in the end get the exact same technologies with the same result?

it would also make it more strategic in choosing a civilization do i want the humans witch can unlock the unltimate industrial improvements or should i go with the dregarian advanced super solider upgrade?

really think its a great idea

I like the idea of race specific techs.  That could be something we do later.

Thats good, it has a lot of potential imo.

So whynot we place down some thoughts on what Civilization should have X.

Of course the concept is each individual tech tree is almost completely alien to one another and relating to the experience and everyway life of the Civilizations.

It should be fairly easy to implement for modders at least based on what I see in GC1. There is a impossible tech that is used for certain items. If you make a ability or a tech that is only accessible to that race then that tech can be used as a prerequisite for that races special tech tree. However I guess you would have to make the tech non-tradeable(stealable) as well which adds a whole lot more programming then I was initially thinking

Well best way to implement this is to have a race trait that opens up a branch of the tree. In SE4 there were traits like Religious, Organic, Crystal, Psychic, and Time traveling/temprol races. Each of these added a speacial tech tree branch with new weapons, armor, buildings, ship-addons. What made it intresting is that organic technology cost more food than other resources to implement. I would love to see an Organic tech race in gal civ that used farms for part of it industry to build ships that have organic components. Also have organic armor that could be effective agianst mroe than one kind of weapon maybe.
