Does it update automatically everytime a price changes? Does it count down the time in real-time? Or do I have to update the data manually?

It does count down in real-time, and prices are updated on an interval that you specify (anywhere from 1 minute to 1 hour). I am looking into adding a dynamic refresh interval option (the closer an auction comes to ending, the more frequently it updates).

The display is based on your watched, bidding, won and lost items, so all you have to do to add an item the widget is place a bid, or add it to your watched items list.

The widget isn't complete yet. At this point I am just gauging interest before making it a gadget.

While I couldn't use it at present, since my internet access is part time, I have to say, hell yeah, I'd pay $5 for it! It looks like you're onto something here. Keep us updated how it goes.

Very much worth $5. I'd say $10.

This was something I had thought about doing. I had also considered putting a popup warning when auctions were near completion, and when they were outbid.

My hesitiation came from the fact that I couldn't think of a way to deal with a change in their format. Without a reliable RSS feed, you're reliant on parsing their pages, and they change the darn things about once a year. If they break it, you'll have to deal with the complaints of people who bought it and replace the exe with a new one.

That said, you might want to look into the use of the Ebay trademark. I'm not sure you could use it on your UI without permission, given that their name implies their involvment.

OK, then I would say it would be a useful gadget, 5$ worth.
