Question about ordering GalCiv II

I would like to purchase for immediate download the most recent Beta of the game and receive later (February 2006?) the final version on CD? I am somewhat confused by the choices on the "Purchase" page. Which one of the below options accomplishes what I want to do:

Galactic Civilizations II (BETA and Final Release)

I would recommend some of the more impatient types like myself try the old version while waiting for Beta 4.


And I thought the late pre-orders couldn't download anything. If what you're saying is right then you have access to eveything everyone else does. Which is contradicting, well, everything. Confused? You will be!

If you preorder right now, you won't have access to beta until Beta 4 starts in late October. You will not get access to older beta versions, or the current beta. You'll have a certain amount of time after Beta 4 goes live to preorder and get into the beta.

I'd suggest preordering BEFORE Beta 4 starts just to make sure.

I'm probably playing right into Stardock's hands, and the closed Beta 3 perhaps aims to achieve this, but I ordered GalCiv I the beginning of last week so that I can get a feel for the product, and I'm pretty excited! I've been playing the game every night since the time I ordered it.


You probably missed the above section of my post, Ugleb. I ordered GalCiv I when there was nothing available to download under my GalCiv II Pre-Order. Selective quoting creates confusion.
