Dobleclicking anywhere on "PICK YOUR RACE" screen causes a crash.

System: Windows XP SP2

Pentium 4 3.0Ghz (HT) 800Mhz bus
1GB RAM dual channel (2x512MB)
NVIDIA GeForce 6800GT 258MB
Audigy 2 Pro sound card

Hm... looks like I can't start a game at all after enemy selection screen I have a crash with same "empty" smart exception log ...
Beta2 worked fine ,
Going to investigate more

No, you'll notice that the missing tech requirements are None and ImpossibleTech. They're just dummy values.

This crash will be fixed in Beta 3a.
