Hmm, Sawyer's The Terminal Experiment won a Nebula too as I recall...

I thought Calculating God was okay. Some great parts, some mediocre parts. In particular I've never thought much of the argument from design (rather like the protagonist) so all the effort that Sawyer went through to put forth that argument was wasted on me.

He's got a couple of other's I've read as well. Don't remember the names right now. Besides... I busy playing this cool TBS game I came across so I'm not really spending any time reading.

My humble apologies fellow canucks for what is going to seem like a terrible betrayal but...

I can no longer remain in good conscious with an empire unable to compete at the top of the metaverse.
I've been doing all I can to keep us in the 6th spot but it appears my efforts are in vain

As such, like they say, if you can't beat em, join em!

My heart will always be in Canada and no one knows for sure what the future holds, but for the present I feel a need to overtake the empires at the top and I don't feel that's likely to happen here.

It is a sad mistake to underestimate the undead as non-competitive. There are reasons to sneak around in the graveyard. Empires higher on the list have fallen to the Canadians before after they had been discounted as "dead". So, watch your back Jedis and Euros. There is still fighters in the CSF, but they might lay around in ambush until the time is right...

and take over the metaverse...

Hello, goody-two shoes of the north. (The regular Canadians here are good, it seems.) Just your friendly Spymaster out for a visit. I'm still a do-gooder at heart. I just cannot seem to get back into the brief evil days of my Metaverse youth. I am just too "good" at killing a few billion aliens of three races. Maybe I need a change of diet and start eating worms instead of letting them be or containing them to a small area...
