Heck forget expansion pack--I'd just like to see an improved UI!

Among other really irritating features:
1) the ship list seems to reset willy-nilly as I work my way through it;
2) there's still no useful way to cycle through ships in the regular screen;
3) figuring out where ships are headed after I've sent them on their way is next to impossible;
4) font sometimes is so big that text crowds right out of the space available for it--would be nice to have it sized properly;
5) while I'm at it, a variety of screen resolutions would be nice;
5) the diplomacy screen still doesn't reset properly when I switch from minor to major races....

Oh I could go on but the point is. And no this isn't a flame--I like GC as much as the next guy. But geez first things first huh?

To cycle through ships on the main screen, hit tab.

To figure out where ships are headed, click the "show autopilot destinations" button under the minimap. Fourth button from the left. It's still somewhat confusing but not impossible.

I think there are a variety of UI improvements being implemented in the expansion pack, including rally points.

I know those commands Vin. They're barely functional. I saw the list of improvements in the expansion. Maybe they'll help. Maybe.

On the upside. I reckon the UI is darn good compared to most other games. :)

*shrug* okay. I find the tab command adequate, myself. Maybe that's because I rarely play the biggest map sizes. What don't you like about it?

The great UI feature that this game has is the governors. For the wonderful governor system, I'm willing to forgive a lot of minor quirks.

While you're on fixing the UI. The main screen for the "good" UI has a white bar over top the text for the stacked ship list.

Why can't someone make a suggestion or critisize (sp?) some part of this game without someone eventualy make a comment like shut up or try this or that game or something like that? Why can't people who like this game also talk about the bad things (as they see it) about it without this confrontation? It sucks to have this reaction. It kills potential customers and current customers as well.

Naaa. They are, like the civil war chess set, genuine Pewter On the inside. Cheap devs. I was going to melt em down too. Shucks.

Hyper sensitive? More like sick and tired of bs. GalCiv is the only game together with Midnight Club II that I keep playing and I see things in both of the games that I don't like. So do other people and some of them say it openly here. Oh, nevermind, its a circle.
