Research has shown 1 week to complete for a long, long, time.

For many months now. I noticed this just after surveying an anomaly that gave me 25% of my research. It started at 6 weeks to complete and stayed there for quite a time. Then I successfully surveyed another research anomaly and it changed to 3 weeks, and remained there for many months. After a while, it dropped to 2 weeks, tnen after anohter many months it dropped to 1 week.

Is it possible that research points earned are not being credited to the research project? I am seeing the time to complete change only when I build a research lab, colonize (or capture?) another planet, or explore a research anomaly.

hey lucky jack, when i started out on the beta, i realised after a while that clicking on the tech didn't research it, until the research button was pressed - this then put the tech up the top in the research queue. just checking you ain't as dumb as me.....

Bingo. I didn't see that. Thanks. That is what it was. May I plead not expecting that because Beta 1 didn't have it? You're right. I should have looked at it more closely.

Having the same problem, I think the current interface is really counter-intuitive. What is the extra click for? What does selecting the tech do?

We have gone to a more explicit system for selecting research items where the player has the opportunity to browse the tech tree and has to specifically say "Research This Item" before it'll be researched.

We had the old system implemented for a while, but it was VERY obnoxious when you wanted to view stats on other research items but would lose the current tech being researched.

This is a screen that will be tweaked to death over the next few months, so hopefully it'll become easier to navigate.
