Research icon not disappearing properly and Ship autolaunch

A small niggle but it was annoying me today. When a research project is complete, an icon drops down the right hand side of the screen as a reminder. I click it, set a new project running, close the research screen. The icon is still there. I click it again and close the research screen (as I have already set research), the icon now disappears.

So I have to click the icon twice before it goes away, when it should only appear once.

As I say, small glitch.

Secondly, I've noticed that there is no option to auto launch ships from a planet once they have been built yet, I'm sure there will be one added at some point but just thought I'd mention it as that was annoying me today as well.

Good point, I can't count how often I've left a ship on planet for a few turns because it wasn't auto launched. Actually, I would also like to suggest that the auto-launch option be set as default, or an option be made to choose which you prefer as default.

In regards to the icons that fall down the right side, I would also like to suggest that they disappear each turn, whether clicked or not. If you are building a war fleet, often you will be making dozens of ships at one time. This fills the whole side. Next turn it becomes overflowing. The turn after that, you can't even see what's happening.

Not sure if its possible or not, but in regards to the icons on the side of the screen. Is there anyway to have it highlight the planet when you over over the icon? When you have a lot of planets its sometimes hard to know where each planet is by name only. Some planets you'll want to set the build queue based on its location in your empire.

These should be disappearing automatically after a couple turns if you've not clicked on them. You can also dismiss them manually by right-clicking on them. Obviously, more tweaking needs to be done to this feature.

One argument that arose concerning the 'Auto-Launch' option (in GC1) is wether or not it became superfluous once Rally Points were introduced. If we let you easilly set a rally point for a planet as to where you want produced ships to be sent, does an AutoLaunch option become obsolete?

I would say that no, the AutoLaunch option doesn't become obsolete. In GalCiv I, I only used the Rally points for Constructors, otherwise I always manually set destinations or orders after the AutoLaunch. This is because that for most craft the destination whould change between each build so there was little point in have Rally Points.

Something that would be more useful to me would be the ability for ships to have orders automaticly set upon build completeion. This of course should be ship type independent and possible also by planet.

No, I don't think it does. In some cases I don't want ships to go join a fleet as I prefer to 'hand pick' a certain ship's assignment. Let's say I just started building battleships, but am still churning out smaller craft as well for numbers. I might want to send a Battleship directly to a certain area, but I'm happy to let the 'bulk' craft muster before I deploy them. If the battleship goes to a rally point I might not get control of it for a couple of turns while it travels there.
