1280

Why does 1280 seem to be the standard resolution for DesktopX. I've tried using 1280 and my fonts are so small in Windows Explorer I can hardly read them. I've tried enlarging them, but that doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions anyone?

Mainly becuase most people now a days have high resolution monitors. I my self just started using 1280x1024 becuase it has alot more work area. My only suggestion is try to get use to it, after a while it will seem fine.

1280x1024 seems to be a very popular resolution for skinners......
I've used 1280 for years on my 17" monitor, and now that I have a dual setup, I use 1600x1200 on the 19", and 1280 on the old 17". Anything lower on those monitors just doesn't work for me. (things are too large, and I lose too much desktop real estate)

If you can't read the fonts at 1280, my guess would be one of three things....... you're using WindowBlinds skins that use tiny fonts (I see quite a few), you need a larger monitor, or maybe it's time for that eye examine

If the font's are too small for you, you can change that from the Appearance tab in the Display Properties Window.

If you find that the items them self are too small you can go to the Setting tab and click the advanced button. You'll then be presented with another window and user the General tab there you can change the DPI of your monitor.

I recommend trying to adjust the font size first.

1280 bugs me too, used to be fine with it but now I'm gettin old Most of it's because my refresh rate goes down to 60hz on high resolutions, though. Time for a new monitor.

Hey! At least you can use that resolution!
There's a small group of people called 15 inch and below LCD. Our group has to hope for(request)a 1024 version. Most people are nice enough to do it, though.
