DX 3 problem (screwing computer up)

Does anybody know why Dx would cause me to have many problems? The problems are scripts disappearing, mouse doesn't respond correctly, websites don't display right, won't print (online only). I know this because before I installed dx I created a restore point when everything was working fine. I installed dx and a script and object just completely disappeared and other problems I mentioned earlier happened. I went to restore it before I installed dx and the restore screen was completely blank.. I had this problem before and explained it to a person at dell and they said I need to do a pc restore which takes it back to the way that it came to me from the factory. Well everything was alright until I installed dx, then everything messed up. I submiited a topic in the personal computing forum about this problem and a person told me to try this thing called scripten from microsoft so I did. It worked but then a little later it happened again. I really like dx so I hope somebody can help..

I'm having the same problem. I've tried just about every way to get my system back the way it was befor insatalling dx, and can't.

I like program a lot, it's a shame I can't use it anymore without scewing my system up. Hopefully someone out there will have an answer...

Have you checked that you don't have any spyware/adware?

Not sure about the printing and mouse issues. Don't see how DX could have caused that. However, I have noticed reports that scripting has failed sometimes. Reinstalling Windows Script seemed to help. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C717D943-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en

Well, I re-formatted, and re-installed windows twice. The second time, I did NOT install Norton AV, and the problem seems to have gone away.

I had a similar problem with it, but nothing THAT serious. It was running fine until I tried to make my own trashcan, but then it died. My computer was fine, but no matter what I did when trying to open DX, it would say "Desktop X did not close properly..." blah blah blah. Whatever I choose, it just ties up my machine. Even after completely erasing the DesktopX folder from my computer and re-instaling, it doesn't work. I was really disapointed, but I got over it after a month or so... Still haven't fixed it...

I have had similar problems, but I have not gone as far to reinstall windows. I am using Windows 2000 and I am certain there are no viruses or hikackers. Usually I clear the problems (scripts disappearing, mouse pointer gone, widget disappearing, etc.) with a reboot.

I have the same problem! I have deleted all and install my Win XP Pro for the second time! My Norton said "Refreshing" and I could not search or anything that could find the problem! I used Microsoft's Antispyware and Spyware Gold and they found nothing! Everything went blank and in here I could not click "next"(java-script was disabled)! All I have found out is, that it comes from a DSN-server! I got it the second time, right after I had uploaded my screenshot "My Azar Desktop"! I had got a warning before, that there was something unusually with that server, but...! Maybe it's Norton or maybe it's the server - I don't now!? I don't use DesktopX anymore!

For me I lost Windows Media Player, System Restore, and other functions. I've reinstalled my system twice because of this problem. The problem only occurs when I install this program. At this point I simply don't use it.
