1) Download and unzip sheet

2) In the score manager tab, use the "add score" button to input score and date

3) When finished adding scores, go to the other tab.

4) Scores should be displayed - mine are +/- 5 points normally.

Thank you Cari, but I forgot to mention that since I changed the name on the old account, my current one updates itself. It was the name that you can change inside of the GC Website that was causing problems. It appears that they became linked through that, despite different nicknames (through WinCustomize). I don't know how important this bit of information is, but with so many people, there could be duplicate names somewhere.

You may need to enable Macros in Excel to use it. It's password protected as the process and setup is relatively complex - I don't want to get into support arguments where people have tampered with it.

Hey Alex, I downloaded the spreadsheet, but the Meta Calculator only shows the first score I entered. All the others dont seem to be registering. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Question: After block 6, the scores are weighted at 0? They don't count?

Well, my scores that are older than 6 months are definately showing up on the metaverse.

I know that Jaws, thanks for answering though. I was talking about Alex's spreadsheet, for some reason the scores I entered that were past 6 months were weighted as 0.

I know, its ok. I thought you'd might like to know that my scores that are older than 6 months are showing up in the metaverse. I remember that was why you started the thread in the first place. You could only reconcile your score if you took scores that were older than 6 months and dropped them.

Yeah, it seemed to get fixed a few days ago. That's how I finally managed to work out the scoring calc.. Still don't know about the older than 290 days yet

Has anybody else had problems with the spreadsheet screwing up the dates? I entered all the dates using month/day/year as appeared by default in the add form, yet, in my rows sometimes they are listed day/month/year, other times month/day/year.

I think it's confusing the rest of the calculations because I get a lot of negative numbers, and my metaverse data says I have a score of 20! Woohoo!

I wonder if it's an Excel version issue? I'm using Excel 2002.

Odd because it screws up consistently on certain lines. If I enter it backwards it'll appear correctly. Other times, regardless of how I enter it, it appears the same. I can switch day/month and it still appears the same. That's just freaky!

Sheet was made in XL2003....

To people who are interested how their score is calculated.

I created a servlet that calculates your score from your metaverse submissions using the formula Primipilus Alexus has published.

Now, it's still a work in progress, and may have some problems, but you can try it out here:

It'll even calculate your new hypothetical scores if you submitted a game with X points on a hypothetical date.

You should know that the formula is close, it's not perfect. Also the servlet has a few problems. It won't work for some people, if you are one of them, you should try try again after your next submission. I haven't tracked down the problem, but I do know it tends to go away sometimes atfer a new submission. (it's problem is reading your score from the metaverse)

Also there are some known rounding problems that mean your score will not be a perfect match. If it's off by a small percentage it's probably just a rounding error in my program.

Anyway, use at your own risk...

P.S. I may take the servlet down at random intervals for upgrades, or my box may crash. It's not a high availability machine.
