Metaverse Scoring, question for T-Man

Metaverse Scoring, question for T-Man

Is it possible to clarify the scoring calculation for both the metaverse and empire totals.

I am having trouble reconciling my total to that of the metaverse with particular reference to scores submitted more than 6 months ago.

Thanks

Sounds more like Diplomacy to me. :D

I don't know about you guys, but since I only have 6 games under my belt, I don't have the decay problem. I have a problem with my scores updating. Every time I want my scores to update, I have to have Spellforce do it for me. I wish this would also fix itself. Do any of you have this problem?

Spellforce can update scores?!?! :SURPRISED:

You've just put him under the gun, Mr. Abet. Everyone! :D To Spellforce's mailbox!

(I'm just kidding people. ;) Don't want to get blamed for spamming.)

Um... hold on a sec. Abet, could your submission problems be the result of the classic "changed my nick" problem?

I don't think so, this is the only name I have on this user name and I have never changed it. I did have an old name, but I do not use it, and I registered this one with the same serial number, but different name and e-mail address.
BTW, Spellforce only does scores in the Diplomats, I don't know how, I just know he does.

I'm a little confused by your response, but the short explanation of the "changed my nick" problem is:

You changed your nick to “ABetterTomorrow”. Your player name remains “A_Better_Tomorrow”. You must continue to submit your games with the name “A_Better_Tomorrow”. As far as the e-mail address, it needs to be the one you used with "A_Better_Tomorrow".

Perhaps someone who has experienced this problem could give a better explanation. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Thanks Kit, but that is not what I meant. What I did is stop using an old name, and completly create a new name, by making a new account. I used the same serial number, but everything else is different. Does this clarify?
Also, I just checked my old name. That name, which I have not submitted anything on, has all my six current games on this name, and has updated itself. Have I created a monster???

I found one similarity, the player name, not the nickname was the same (the reason for the new account is I wanted a new nickname, so my current name was the old player name, which is the only one I could change). I changed the other's player name, and the scores vanished on there. Can anyone explain what I have done to me? CariElf perhaps.
Sorry to get this thread off scoring, but it seemed the best place to raise the question.

I found problems with my spreadsheet - AFAICT the games older than 6 months just stay in the six month block.....

Thanks Alex,

I think I've finally worked it out after a bit of digging in an old thread, and after submitting my last game the following seems to be the calc..

Not sure if Stardock has been working on the calc but certainly my score has increased significantly recently. Thanks to everybody for their help and support...

So if T-man could confirm this...
Block 1 0-30 days 100%
Block 2 31-60 days 95%
Block 3 61-90 days 90%
Block 4 91-120 days 85%
Block 5 121-150 days 80%
Block 6 151-220 days 75%
Block 7 221-290 days 70%
Beyond 290 days 65%?

Impressive Mr. Jaws. That calculation is within 500 points of my Meta score. It’s the closest I’ve seen it since I came back. I too saw a large jump with my last submission. Maybe it explains T-man’s absence - fixing scores during every spare minute, too busy to drop by the forum for now.

I e-mailed T-man about ABetterTomorrow's account.  I've seen this behavior a few times before, but I don't know what causes it.

T-man is always really busy (we could probably keep 3 more of him busy) so he doesn't stop by the forums too often.  It doesn't help that we were hacked last week.

Cari,

Just want to take a time out to thank everyone at Stardock for keeping us afloat after the attack. I hope nothing was seriously affected by it and hope everyone at Stardock is doing okay. I'm sure there have been some long hours put in and there will probably be many more long hours to go.

Oh behalf of everybody here, thank you all for your dedication and professionalism.

And thank you T-Man for doing so much behind the scenes. You da man!

Oh, and one more thing. Hopefully, you will find out the identity of the hacker, hunt the vermin down and pull their finger nails out one by one with a flaming hot pair of rusty pliers.

Ahem...sorry.

Interesting - my oldest game is currently 211 days, so I won't have seen the next block.

Alex anyway to give a walkthrough in how to use your spreadsheet to calculate scores???
