How to find a planet?

I must be very dense, but I can't figure out how to find a specific planet.

Yesterday I got the event "The XXXX found alien artifacts that boosted their newly colonized planet YYYY to planet quality 35".

Needless to say, I wanted to kind of go and knock on their door. :-) Looked forever for that planet but couldn't find it though.

I'm not sure if there are any planet searching functions for planets you haven't colonized (that would be nice, though, particularly for determining where to send your colony ships, like how they had it in MOO2). Are there any such functions and I just don't know about them?

In any case it shouldn't be too hard to find the planet if you just look at each of the systems of race XXXX, eventually you'll find planet YYYY (it should be easy to spot, it'll be big and purple if it's PQ 28+ or so).

Keep asking for 'Find Planet' functionality. Hopefully, StarDock will hear our pleas and eventually add it.

Hopefully, this functionality will be added in the expansion...

My major beef is when trying to find the remaining minors on a gigantic map... :notsure:

What I do as far as tracking my own planets on hugh maps is that I draw my own map on a blank shhe of paper. Al I do is put the planet namets on the paper in the proximity of where it would be on the screen. I find this as a very big help when being asked what Military projects to build for a planet when I have no idea where it is.

I create a paper map also. I also use gridded paper to chart the course of my trading blips (ships) until I know their path. It makes Trading base location easier.

Wouldn't the ability to print maps be a real help... hmmm maybe tie it to an almost useless skill ;)
