:HOT: Welcome to the home of Special Forces. :HOT:

We are an elite fighting unit committed to each other and ridding the Metaverse of alien fiends. Oh, and having a good time, drinking fine beverages and writing hopefully witty stuff. Our leader is whoever bought the last round of drinks, or whoever shot the last alien. We are...Very Special.

Hurley is a silver-tongued dual class mage/politician. He enjoys nothing better than an erudite discussion over (several) bottles of red wine and is not above using appropriate magic to ensure his party is neither inconvienced by rude bounders nor out of pocket with demands by haughty inn-keepers. His favourite weapon is the rib-piercing corkscrew and is often found in company of other reputable types!

Well, since I', slow on this (blame the dialup!!), put me down for the grunt. How about an ambidextorus Conan type. You know, the gut who names his swords everytime he goes into battle (be quiet Ben!)

"By the powers that be, I smite you with Smith & Wesson!" ;p :p :d

Cheers and Beers,

Piers

Killa Koala was a lonely orphan child...oh, sorry, wrong story. Let me think…

In the early days, Killa began his career as a Lancer- he was an expert with a spear and devastating high-jump attacks. However, as his knees became rheumatic, and it must be said, after one awkward moment in particular with a Jedi and his saber, Killa forswore the dropbear tactics that had worked so admirably since he climbed off his mother’s back.

Killa was somewhat at a loss as to his next class. Fortune smiled though as it often does, for during one afternoon eucalyptus leaf binge (which to this day Killa is convinced was spiked in some grotesque payback for imagined slights by a certain du… but I digress) he saw the lights. He diligently studied and mastered a combination of Oracle and Mime jobs. As we know, an Oracle deteriorates enemy forces (or even friendly forces, think ‘friendly fire’ here) by causing status anomalies by using Yin-Yang magic. The weapons of an Oracle are a rod and dictionary. The Mime ability is particularly cool: a warrior who mimics an allies’ actions, so he doesn’t need an actual weapon.

Killa considered, but discarded, other classes. He so wanted to be a Bard but we all know that was never gonna happen. And the Dancer class (Killa had read that ‘Her/his enchanting dance has various effects on the enemy’) was a no-go after Killa found that his dance magic really did have various effects on those who witnessed it. He got no positive feedback from that early experience.

So there you have it: make of it what you will.

Piers,

Prior to joining the Posse, Cypher was a pirate with a knack for inventing things and getting in trouble with his missues. Jaws helped form my identity as a Bundy Bear. http://www.bundabergrum.com.au/stuff_commercials.html
The classic drop bear commercial is gone now, but Phone Number is pretty good. I received my Drop Bear training for Killa (whose name was once Drop Bear). Drop Bears enjoy smashing things by falling on them.

Cypher is a cartoonish character, so you really can't do wrong by him... ;)

Cheers!

Check out the NEW, IMPROVED MWC Statbot
http://idle.thehueys.com/midwest/statbot/

The Special Forces is kicking butt. We're #1 in two out of three of the Statbots Top Ten Categories.

We're way ahead of the Fellowship in both Total Metaverse Points Submitted and Maso Games. The 'average' Special Forces member has submitted nearly 1,000,000 metaverse points - though this is due mostly to Ginata, Jaws, and Wombat.

Good show,

Cypher

Another fun stat -- more than 20% of the total maso games have been submitted by the Special Forces.

Harel --

Cypher Pax would be a great Pirate... Perhaps, a Dropbear Ranger Pirate. That's the ticket - a giant rampaging dropbear pirate who hunts hunters and those who waste beer. Cypher's interests include drinking, building things, and smashing things with his huge furry rear (not things he builds though). Cypher is generally fearless, though he is afraid of his wife.

Cheers!

Yeah. The wife isn't very pleased with Pontius either seeing as how I turned HER into a bear instead of Cypher back into a human. She's Golden Grizzley. The fiercest, meanest bear on the planet.

but I can lay on hands (especially on Ginata) as a perk.

Be careful there - the Marquesa may want her percentage too.... LOL

Spy reports coming back now, though free intel wouldn't hurt! :D

Cypher - thanks for the link, and congrats to the MWC statheads for their excellent work. I must say that raw score at least makes sense to me, a damn site more than Stardock's bizarre calculator (and I'm not just saying that because we're on top).

Sherbert - I'll check our comms and try and come up with something for you!

Hmmm...I was beginning to think I was in the Fellowship thread after reading the many posts about who was a rogue and who was a barbarian! LOL

Just thought I'd drop by and say hi! It appears the contest between the Fellowship and SpecFor has calmed a bit for the time being, so it's a good time to stop in for a drink...got anything cold for a wandering warrior? Perhaps a frosty mug of beer? :d

Always got a cold one for you, Theoden - pull up a chair! Special Forces operatives are currently engaged elsewhere on a variety of missions, but we're still logging the occasional game; I do think some fatigue/frustration with elements of 1.12 exist but we are a determined lot - dont go to sleep again, there may not be another handy M.Downie around to recruit!

LOL

Thanks for the beer! :d

Yes, 1.12 has not lived up to expectations. Too many little bugs for my taste. I've started randomly voting other empires for the UP Headquarters, now...just to shake things up a bit! ;p

Didn't they promise the fix would be out by now? I haven't heard a peep about it in several days. :notsure:

Army pubs are always the best for cheap grog. And with troopers from lots of different time zones working behind the bar, we can keep this place open 24/7.
