Galactic Civilizations: Altarian Prophecy

This will become a sticky but the short story is, we've decided to go ahead and make a premum expansion pack for GalCiv players.

The main features will be:

+ A campaign called "The Altarian Prophecy"

+ A Scenario editor (which will allow users to create their own campaigns and scenarios)

+ A Map editor

+ 2 new races

+ LOTS of new complex random events.

+ New Metaverse ranking category: Scenario leaders (we don't want to penalize people who play scenarios by not counting their scores so what we'll do is have scenarios have their own rankings -- plus that could be a lot of fun where people create scenarios and compete to be best at them).

Target date: January 2004. We'll be taking pre-orders starting in early November. Price: $19.95.

The premium expansion pack development should NOT affect the release dates of GalCiv 1.12 (Nov) or GalCiv 1.2 (Dec) nor will it affect the feature set of those two things.

In other words, those who don't buy the the expansion pack will not be penalized in any way. GalCiv standard will be getting a logistics ability.

Oh btw, the map editor has a really cool 3D engine. I wish we could have our main map like that editor. ;)

If you could post minimal system specs and also recommended specs for the new expansion it may help us with marginal systems to make a decision. Thanks...

Any chance of using some of the budget to add difficulty filters on the metaverse as well as the scenario leaders / filters?

Great news. Looking forward to the scenario stuff. Does it mean we'll be able to mod all the techs and put that in a folder and have a choose scenario option in the main menu? (I just don't want to move the data folder by hand everytime I switch modded/unmodded game).

... hey michael. ich verstehe, was du meinst: jemand müsste modern games mal in den A... treten, weil die es fertigbringen, Galciv in Deutschland zu ruinieren, indem sie keinerlei support anbieten (no upgrades, patches etc.) ist aber nicht stardocks fehler. Ich für meinen teil hab mir die deutsche version gekauft und nutze den code, um die englische zu spielen ... das machen aber sicherlich nur Fans. :notsure:

I've been meaning to tell you you cannot do this with the code in the english version. You must have the German. I personally want more naked women. The women, however, aren't fans of this.
