Sol system in game

Why then I and all who starts the game the sol system doesn't contains all their planets that it should contain?

We have 9 planets here, not 8!

1.Mercury
2.Venus
3.Earth
4.Mars
5.Jupiter
6.Saturn
7.Uranus
8.Neptun
9.Pluto

Wrong, oddly enough. Scientists recently discovered that Pluto is not, as was previously thought, a planet, but is, in fact, a cartoon dog.

The game randomizes our system Sol in the same way it does for the rest of the star systems.
Sometimes you'll find planets that are higher in quality than Earth.
Just another way to mix things up I guess. You'll learn to like it. :)

Alternatively there could be ten or more planets - there are several kuiper belt objects that could qualify if Pluto does. Search on kuiper belt or Quaorr for more info....

The scientific community is still actively debating what constitutes a planet. As arobertson mentioned, there are several objects in the solar system that are not designated planets, but are larger than some bodies that are called planets. Ganymede, for instance, is Jupiter's third and largest moon, and it is larger than both Pluto and Mercury.

I think that our "planets" are planets more out of habit than anything else. In the end game, they're all just big rocks floating out there in space.

This is what really pisses me off in this game. I've often got several other habitable systems and sometimes I've even got a purple sun!

I think that in next patch proggramers shouls change the code that the sol system will stay stady without changes like other star systems

First you must understand that I love this game, and the fact that sol is different is my least favorite part. I don't HATE it, but it annoys me, especially when sol ends up as a purple sun :notsure:(not really when it has different planets, I like it when it has good ones ;p ) . I just think that it would be so easy for the coders to make sol always a yellow sun. The planets doesn't matter as much to me.

Wasn't there something about purple stars having a slight influence bonus over yellows? If so, then getting a purple Sol is a good thing just like having 3 habitable planets :P

Yes, a purple star has a +10% influence bonus over a regular system, if I recall correctly.

Wasn't there something back during the '80s about a couple of researchers who claimed to have found a planet inside Mercury's orbit - called it "Vulcan?" And no, I'm not kidding. As I recall, the discovery was never confirmed.

In 1845, French astronomer Urbain Le Verrier was investigating the gravitational effects that the planets had on each other. He could account for almost all of this precession when he took into account the gravitational effects of the Earth and Venus. His conclusion was that there was another planet between Mercury and the Sun. He correctly deduced that this planet should transit the Sun every so often, appearing as a small black spot against the disc of the Sun, and would orbit in 23 days. On searching records of Solar observations, he found many unexplained black spots and worked out the date of the next transit as March 22nd, 1877. He even named the planet 'Vulcan'. The date for the transit of Vulcan dawned, but nothing was seen. We now realise that the black spots on the observations that Le Verrier used were simply poor observations. Nevertheless, Le Verrier discovered Neptune in 1846 using exactly the same methods. The explanation arrived when Einstein used General Relativity to calculate the expected value of precession, it agreed with the observed value very well indeed. Le Verrier was therefore partially correct in realising that the high value of precession depended on gravitational disturbances but used the wrong body and a too simple theory of gravitation. Newton's theories only really hold true when the gravitational forces are comparable to those on Earth. Further evidence to support Einstein's theory has come from radar studies of the planet.
