will you recommend tiny or large maps?

Most balanced map size is large IMHO. But at the start maybe better to play Medium.

Do you think tiny map would be more difficult for newbie at normal setting than the medium or large?

Yes... But more important is the number of good planets. The more there are, the easier it is since the disadvantage of not knowing where the good planets are is neglected when next to every system has em.

When i started i used small maps with only 2 or three computer players, also with only occasional habitable planets so that i could get a handle on the game.
