You need Galciv writer, you can go to the GCMods and there is the tread for the program called Galciv writer created by Hawaiifive-0. You also can visit our website at link http://www.cdgroup.org/forums/tbs/gc/ and go to the Creations & Customization File Categories
and you will find some mods over there that have not been posted in the Library and also a lot of help with any questions. The link for the tread by HawaiiFive-0 for the galciv writer tool is link http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GM&id=41514#91142

I hope you visit our website and post there any of your creations. Good job.

can you use notepad for the events? i never made a mod, but i was looking at the programming behind them in notepad, and im guessing one could type one up the same as one types up an .html document.

No it will not work, you need certain program that is only found in the galciv writer, but you can ask HawaiiFive-0 about it. I think that Galciv writer is very simple to use.

HTT:

Yes, you can use NotePad to edit or create events. However, GCWriter is still strongly recommended because of its error- and bounds-checking capabilities.

I'm flattered, but this is not true. You can certainly use Notepad to edit any of the text files GalCiv uses.

I would agree, but of course I'm biased. :D

I do most of my editing in Object Edit (Ooh, free advertizing for Stardock! yay! :p ), mainly because GalCiv Writer chokes on my setup. Appears to be an array bounds overflow caused purely by my having too much junk I cooked up during the beta testing just to try to break things. Apparently I suceeded too well... :notsure:
