i once had a boss who lived in switzerland for a few years -he says, contrary to popular belief, its actually cheaper to live there then here in canada. not only that, he said that you will proberaly get paid more doing the same job you do in canada over in switzerland.

does anyone know if they have free health care in switzerland as they do here in canada? im pretty sure they do, but im not certain.

But the Evil Ones also earn respect for showing prowess and power, and thus being a worthy successor to the throne of Evilness if you should eclipse our glory. I will admit that a lot of the older pirates have mellowed out a bit. I mean, my evil days are like ancient history.

i have an idea that might help with recruiting -however, its just an idea. tell me what you think, and if you dont like the idea, speak up. -and dont worry, we arent going to vote on this or anything -im just brainstorming, i want to see what the pros and cons are of this idea.

my idea:

1) when someone is interested in joining an empire, they will most likely only consider joining an empire that appears on the first page. in our case, we are fine with that, we are in the top 10.

2) when someone is interested in joining an empire, they will not choose an empire with a slopy logo or a logo that doesnt appeal to them. in our case, i think all of our logos have been good -might not appeal to everyone, but that is something we cannot control very easily.

3) no one will join an empire that doesnt look active. for this point, we are doing good, we have two threads that stay on page 1 most of the time, and we even have our own web page.

for my idea, im thinking of trying something out that will improve point# 2 and 3. my suggestion is what if we get 3 or 4 logos, and we cycle through them daily. we pick 3 or 4 logos -all must look very different from each other, they all must fit our "evil" theme, and they all must look good. at the end of every day, we will change the logo, and on the 4th change, we switch back to the first logo. we will cycle through the same logos daily for atleast a month, so that way we dont have to always look for, and make more logos.


why do this? im thinking this will make us stand out from the rest of the empires in the top 10. when " Special Forces" where changing their logo daily, they really stood out -well, i know for me, they really stood out. i wouldnt have noticed them rise through the ranks if they kept with one logo, but when they changed their logo daily, every day i would look at the metaverses top empires, and the first thing that would catch my eye would be a new logo.

i think this would have the same effect on someone who wants to join an empire. most people will proberly browse through the metaverse and the forums for atleast a few days before joining an empire. for someone who plans on leaving an empire, they will proberly think about it for atleast a week before they will actually leave their old empire and join a new one. in this time period of them deciding on who to join (if this time period is for atleast 2 days), our empire with the "ever changing logo" will really stand out to them, which will increase our chances of getting new recruits.

It is an interesting idea, milord. However the 'ever-changing' logo might not go over so well within the Metaverse governing body. It is worth a try. Also we need to keep our empire appealing. ****I like the idea of having only five (or seven) senators (odd number for voting purposes) plus the emperor. The only problem with this is that some senators will lost their high level position. Which may be bad or may be good. In which case we must first decided to downsize the senate then vote on the senators. It will be a major change within our empire. We could, shortly thereafter, begin to pick and choose who stays in the senate and who leaves. Which means we must decide on way to judge who 1) can be a senate 2) what would justify removing a senator and 3) how the process works to remove and instate a senator****This might be a real drastic step, but it is just a thought. Otherwise I agree with your idea, milord.

overhauling the empire is an idea. it will require lots of input from everyone though (hint, hint, nudge, nudge).

i have a question though, is it possible to delete a senator without deleting them from the empire? i never deleted anyone, so i dont know.

I'm not a fan of huge changes when it's not necessary, so I'm against any gigantic overhaul of any sort. Cycling logos is good though, because then more than one persons logo can be used.
