Corruption

The Civ series has corruption. The further you are from the capitol the more people will have their hands in the cookie jar. Can this be incorporated into GC2 in some way? An equivalent to the forbideden palace would be helpful for combating corruption as in Civ now.

It's better left out of galciv, unless caused by spies. Distance-induced corruption is pretty boring in civ III (more bearable in ctp, civ and civ II)

Now I like the idea of the Spies causing corruption, industrial sabotage, wreck current research activites, I would love to see this modeled after Space Empires.

at corruption would be reduced because it weakens the empire and a weak empire is ripe for the taking.

Seriously though, consider the US. Where do you think most corruption occurs, Hawaii or Washington DC? I'd guess Washington DC.

worlds, external influence), but distance is not the reason. A fringe world is a world that's been settled recently, or has foreign population, not necessarily a far-away world.

adel mod, you could choose a small "city states" regime which gave good research but was limited in size or pick a less efficient "empire" which couold stretch more.

distance from the seat of government AFAIK, more a function of planet quality.

ruption would have an effect on a planetery level except to citizen morale (Why do you care if the citizens of some distant planet light years away keep their own? laws)

would just roll it into morale. Think about it That's just the way Brad and his people seem to me. Keep the mucky details out of the way as much as is possible, and let the players focus on the interesting elements and have fun.
