I would have guessed about SP2. One question: Did you have SP2 installed before you installed windowblinds? Just curious. If not, you may try unloading and uninstalling windowblinds, reboot and try to install again. It seems that some people have trouble with windowblinds and SP2, and some do not. Mostly it seems that those who have problems did not unload windowblinds before installing SP2. So, maybe certain files didn't get updated properly with windowblinds running while installing SP2, or maybe some files got deleted from windowblinds or corrupted.

no its a new clean installiton of XP pro with sp 2 embeded into it.
meaning i installed Windows Blinds after i got SP2...
it skins everything else perfectly..
just not the taskbar & start menu.
any ideas?

Can you check the Advanced Configuration window? User overrides section - are any of the XP overrides ticked? If so, does it work if you untick them and reapply the skin?

You have version 4.3. You need version 4.4 for it to work correctly on the Athlon 64 with SP2, which should be available to download for all registered users, and a trial version will be out in the next few days.

Someone told me to post here, so here it is:

I recently got the full version, and after installing and finding a nice skin, I apply the skin, but when I reboot the computer it goes back to windows XP classic???

What's causing this?

If its not working for you when you reboot I would add a shortcut to wbload.exe in your startup group.

See if that helps.

There is a known issue with AMD 64 and windowblinds. I don't know if SP2 caused the problem. But, it is being worked on and should be fixed in the next build. Here is another messageboard response about the problem if you don't believe me.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one with this problem. I just got my new notebook with a AMD 64 processor and SP2 already installed. I just recently installed version 4.3 and had the same problem.

I'll keep a eye out for 4.4. I would buy Object Desktop but I have to wait till I get $$ to do so

/me waits
