show desktop screwes up desktopx?

I just got DesktopX 1.10 and so far none of the themes seem to work when I make it show the desktop, most of the themes just disappear and you just see the background. Is there anyway to fix this?

The option "show desktop" does just that. It shows what you have on your desktop minus all the toys (i.e. DX) To get the dx theme back, just click on "show desktop" again.

It is a useful feature for hiding things.

er... you do mean to say you have DX 2.1, right?

lol oops yea, and I phrased it wrong, I meant show the icons, it never seems to work and is there anyway for the theme to be always on top?

Well, I guess you are opening the DX configuration and changing the settings to show desktop icons? If you do that and then click apply and then OK, it should work. Then if you always want it to be that way.. on the configuration is a save theme option. Save it. Its like word or something, you can make all the changes but you have to save them before you close it.

If you want parts of the theme to always be on top, you can alternate click and change the z-order setting. But remember to save the theme and return to user mode and not edit mode... If I am understanding you right.

well for example I am using the alien techonolgy skin and the menus are like covered over by any application, is there anyway so that i don't have to minimize every single application to get there? and is there anyway to minimize all the windows? like how show desktop works and when I uncheck hide icons the skin is all screwed up theres extra space on the bottom the top bar with all the menus disappear, anyway I can like configure it so that it'll fix these problems?

If you can picture DX as a maximized window. Anything showing that is part of DX will only show then. If you hit "Show Desktop" DX should minimize with all the other open application windows. I don't think there is a way around this As for menus covered over by any application....I don't understand what you mean

DesktopX has it's own show desktop option. Just make a new object with type of System and Show Desktop. Alternatively use Windows Key + M to minimise all windows and Shift+Windows Key+M to restore the windows.

for the menus i mean for example you have interenet explorer covering the screen and when you try to click a menu tat s down you cant see the choices because the internet explorer is covering it, is there anyway for that menu to be on top of all windows?

Ohhhhh...when you say menus...do you mean like a menu bar that desktopX puts on one of the sides or top of the computer? If so go into Configure DestopX Settings==>Desktop Tab==>Work Area Button. Check Reduce work area and enter the number of pixels you need to reduce the work area by. You'll have to play with it a little bit to get it just right, but when done your maximized windows won't cover your menu bar
