Uninstalling? Help.plz

New User here, bare with me.....

I enjoy using themes, but my system resources are low at the moment.
I tryed to uninstall the progs i d/l'd and i cant seem to get rid of window blinds and icon packager. Not to mention i got a bunch of windows hotfix files in add/remove.

Question is, how do i get my original XP pro settings back without running the cd? Little lost here so any help would be apreciated

you can just unload Windowblinds and it won't be there, but if you use the correct skins windowblinds will allow you to use less memory than if you were using the normal theming of xp, aka luna.

iconpackager uses no extra resources because of the way it works.

you don't want to uninstall the hotfixes (they are the updates that you need to keep your system safe and secure, and they often help with performance)

do not remove those. They are Microsoft Windows XP updates.

System Restore?
That is what it's there for.
Once you have it sorted you can create a new restore point and delete the rest, they tend to clutter up the HS.
And set your swap file at a fixed size, depending on the RAM installed the rule of thumb was/is 2.5 times RAM = maximim/minimum swap file setting.
Winders will moan and predict doom but it works without a hassle.

Well you don't really need to uninstall the programs, just don't run them, although they don't take up that much resources, relatively speaking. How much memory do you have? Your resource issue may be due to some other issue. Or just running XP and too much stuff on an underpowered pc.

Before uninstalling the programs, restore the original XP settings through the programs themselves. For example, in IconPackager go back to using the default XP icons. Ditto for WB in the appearance section of Display Properties. Note: in the past at least people who didn't restore using the original XP icons/settings in IconPackager before uninstalling IP ran into problems and then were looking for their XP icons. Then when you've done all that, shut down the programs so they aren't running. I sometimes even reboot to make sure the program isn't running again at start up and I've done it properly.

Then you can uninstall either through Stardock Central (if that's what you have) or if you only have a couple programs through the all programs start menu --> specific program --> program's uninstall.
