Tired of this CRAP on the messageboards

How about this for a solution to the problem of all these dickweeds registering just to cause trouble;

You have to be a registered member of WC (not necessarily a paying one) for at least one month before you're allowed to post. If you need help, go to IRC.

Why should the majority pay for the few idiots' mistakes? I dont think that's a fair deal. If anything, just police the boards more...have Admins lock threads like that other one before they bite the trolls hook.

Don't worry DT: the thread is gone and it's author exiled.

Notice how everytime a nasty thread like the one d_t is referring to comes up, someone like Kain2004 always shows up on the boards for the very first time to voice their support?

And Kona: You're a great guy. Dont let losers get you down.

Takes more than a person's words to get me down. I know I am a good guy. Thank you for your vote of confidence!

Seemed to me the originator of the other thread was not all that sincere in having a real discussion but simply engaged in trolling and ad hominem comments

Kain, just so you know I'm not on their side but theres something you have to know. Freedom of speech doesn't apply here because it's a private place. It's not public.

Just another good Friday night I guess.

Freedom of speech is in the Constitution, but that doesn't mean it applies here.

If you want to use complete sentences and specifics to advance a position, that's another story. Kindly include details on bypassing Microsoft's copyrights and security, redistribution of copyrighted Microsoft material, incomplete skinning (and no, not .manifest files), and how the Evil Corporate Stardock holds a pitchfork baby-tossing contest on alternate Tuesdays (weather permitting).

Kain2004........I have a screenshot (taken by someone else, as I don't hack system files) of TaskManager showing StyleXPServices.exe consuming over 45 Megs of RAM, and over 233 Megs of virtual memory. Isn't that interesting?

On my system, at this moment, WindowBlinds is chewing up a wooping 1.8 Megs of RAM, and 3.2 Megs virtual memory. ........Now tell me again, who is brainwashed?

and listen to Nakor........ we'll happily debate facts if you wish, but your freedom of speech ends when you walk in to someones home, and start talking trash.

Well Kosati, you have a really messed up system. I can show YOU a screenshot of StyleXP using 600k of ram. Isn't THAT interesting.

My system is fine.......... lemme see your SS. Be sure to include the RAM used by the ThemesServices, because that what StyleXP uses also.

Ender, can I ask you a serious question? Now, you are obviously a StyleXP user, so ofcourse you think it's better. Koasati, and probably 99.8% of the people that some here are Windowblinds users. Now what is the point arguing "my skinning proggie is better than yours"? What exactly are you trying to prove? Do you think your wisdom about the skinning world will enlighten us so much so that we all forget Stardock and start using StyleXP? Be serious man, this is a website dominated by Windowblinds...you are only gonna get 1,000 replies stating how much better Windowblinds is than StyleXP. It's like going to a Netscape forum and claiming Internet Explorer is the best Web Browser. Better yet, why don't you go to the Ford dealership and tell them that a Chevrolet is better and all the people should buy Chevrolet. You need to understand how the world works man...

Sorry if my post offends you.

I can't wait until SP2 and Longhorn come out. Put StyleXP out of business for good.

For myself it isn't an issue of resources but one based in morals. ( Which is really odd for me, I do not feel constrained by morals, EH , anyway )

StyleXP is a hack, the fact that it applies the hack in memory as opposed to changing the file on the drive before being loaded into memory does not make a difference.

What I find honestly funny about the whole StyleXP group of devout users is the fact that they are paying money for the right to run a hack they could actually do on their own without paying anyone a dime to do and use.

That is a personal choice that they have made which is what I have done. I have purchased the main commercially sold Shell and Skin applications on the market.

WinSTEP, Hoverdesk, Aston and ODnet are the ones I have purchased and have found to all do exactly what they claim to do and very well at that.

StyleXP on the other hand is something I could not pay a dime for. If I am going to accept making the choice to infringe upon intellectual property rights I am *not* going to pay someone to do it.

Fix that (license the right to make use of the M(icrosoft)SSTyle and I would consider checking out StyleXP also.

Until that time I am happy in my ignorance of that specific hack.

( side note: I've noticed that StyleXP is actually being pirated now that I find hilarious. )
