Please help, I am....

Hi all-
Please help...I am using "Christmas 2" windowblinds, but for some odd reason the "change user" and "Log off" buttons are missing!! Click on my name and you can see what I'm talking about..... This is only happening with this skin. I really like the skin and would like to keep using it...... any suggestions? Thanks!

I just downloaded Christmas2 and looked at it in skin studio. The author has the translucency checked for the log off section on the start menu. If you have skin studio, open up the skin and uncheck the translucent attribute and all should work fine.

You can download SkinStudio here..https://www.stardock.com/products/skinstudio/downloads.asp

After you have it downloaded open the program and click on "Tools" mouse on "WindowBlinds" and it will open a new menu. Click on "Open current skin". Make sure you do have the skin you would like to work on open at the time. When it come up you will see the skin. In the middle where you see the picture of the WB, to the left of that there will be sections you can chose from. Click on "XP Taskbar". When you are there click on the "Log Off" area. To the very left the will be a window open that has all the part of the skin listed. It will open the start panel area. Click on "Log Off Buttons" and uncheck "Translucency" in the area just under the pic. in the middle to the right. Save it. Do this by going up to the left top where it says "File, Edit, View" and such. Just under the "Windows" selection there is a icon for saving the WB.Directly under the "dow" of "Window". When it asks to save say yes.

Hope this works for you.

I have left a comment for the author. He is probably not even aware of the glich. Keep checking back in the comment section of the skin and if he is willing to fix it and update it with the fix, you can always re-download it the skin. However , for something so minor that most people can correct themselves with skin studio, he may not opt to fix it unless he was going to make other changes to it. Your best bet is to download skin studio and do what Keila and I have suggested. If you decide to download skin studio and need further help correcting the problem, I'll be glad to help.

Keila, Crissy14-
OK I got as far as you can see on the pic (click on my name). Now where it says "Translucent"; it won't let me do anything, but the "Transparent" button will let me put a check on it.... so I'm not really sure what to do next.
Am I looking at the right buttons... to uncheck or check?

No aarielle, you are in the wrong section.(but you're close) You don't want the buttons, you want the bar. The buttons are supposed to have the translucency set. On the left , just above where you are in SS. Click on "bottom bar", and then un-check the translucency attribute on the right hand side.

I made a boo boo. DO NOT check the transluceny or the transparency fot the log off buttons. Leave them both unchecked. The author used a bmp image instead of a tga., and neither needs to be checked. However DO uncheck the translucensy for the log off bar as i described above. One you uncheck it, the skin should work fine
