giving away a subscription to wincustomize.com

I have asked an administrator here if I could do this... no answer to my email yet so I figured I would get it started.
I am wanting to give my subscription of wincustomize.com to someone here who can't afford it.
I am using the honesty program here so please don't ask if you make more than 20,000.00 US Dollars a year, or if you live at home with your parents that make more than 20,000.00 US Dollars a year, or your parents are giving you an allowance and sending you to college.
If you fall somewhere below that catagory and really want the subscription which is good for almost 2 years... give or take a month I think.... and Jafo returns my email without sarcasm and/or locking the thread, then let me know here. We will decide who will receive it if it is possible. If, due to pride or whatever, you wish to remain completely anonymous then you can email me at [email protected] or you could email Jafo here.

What do you base your decision on - first come, first serve or 'most needy essay' or...

number lottery thing?

I haven't really decided yet... maybe the number. If I say that then I will get numerous repeat posts which might drive people nuts here.

Could you explain why you are giving it away?

OK, my curiosity is killing me - why do you want to give away your subscription?

I don't think we will go there. I just don't want the subscription anymore and since its paid for... I didn't feel like just asking wincustomize to remove me from the site. I'd rather give the remaining time to someone who will enjoy it and use it

What about someone who makes 40k a year but spends 30k on medical expenses? I know people who make a lot more than me that are a lot worse off.

Anyway, can you even transfer subscriptions? Doesn't that give you the right to download full featured software? Sounds like something the average EULA would say ixnay to. If you give it to someone, and they use it to download everything, and then they give it to someone and they, too download everything... Not sure that is kosher. To me, if indeed a subscription lets you download the full-featured software, this would be a warez type thing.

I want it! I want it!

I'd tell you the story of the sappling bending with the wind, but...

That is what I was asking one of the administrators.. but I sent that email to him yesterday with no response. But I am sure under the circumstances... an exception could be made.

No, I don't think so. Once it passes to the new 'owner' and he posts the username/password on a taiwanese pr0n site, it is still gonna be your account used to distribute warez. I wouldn't think it right to pass the account out of your control.

baker: t man could always reduce him to user level 2 and someone else to level 4. no passwords would change hands.

I agree with Baker, if you don't want it, don't use it; this is negative feelings in a positive guise.

Its a registration number isn't it? Could be changed and made unique to the person receiving it.. just like a new subscription

Thanks hus

Well.. an admin will have to make the decision about that, which my request has been made. As far as it being negative in a positive guise... its taking an unfortunate negative situation and trying to make a positive result.

It's unfortunate that all of this is a result of Wincustomize.com's protection of  a commercial work by Lane KarKruff  http://www.blueskyheart.com/  [as is only proper].

Quite absurd, really.

And, no, the thread won't be locked unless it, too deteriorates into more personal attack.

No.. it was a result of the way it was handled. I'd already told you that I agreed with the reason it was rejected. So don't try to make it look like I was trying to pass some commercial work as my own or something.
As far as the subject of this thread.. if we could get back to that... JAFO.. is it possible for a subscription to be transfered?
One question... requiring one answer

I have a simply solution - why don't you just ask for a refund? although maybe that is not possible.
