Is possible to switch files preview in live folders to flat?

Hello!

Windows contains live folders which at least indicate that there are stored files.
These files in folders representing 3D file icon/thumbnails:

3D file preview in live folder

I want to customize Windows to have these icons/thumbnails flat.
Is itpossible?

Thank you for each help, reply or comment.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, from what I know that can't be done. The front and back of that folder can be made flat but Windows will render that internal pictures/icons slanted. I might be wrong since its very long time I have not done any Iconpackagers Pack. Hopefully someone with more experience on it come in and offer better answers.

Ok.
Maybe it is not possible to do it generally - I never seen it also in previous Windows versions, or is it not truth?

In windows, you can choose an image to show instead of the folder contents, I just did it.

Right click the folder, properties. Choose customize tab. Mid dialog there is an option to choose a file to show on the folder.

You can also tell IconPackager not to use live folders.

Edit. I may be mistaken about that. Seems you can set different settings for live folders, but I see no option to NOT use them at all.

Hi there.

You can actually disable the live folders and keeping the previews for files by editing the registry.

Create new Disable live folder.txt & Enable live folder.txt.
Open the .txt files and copy the codes into them, then save.
Rename the .txt to .reg
Double click on file and add the key to activate.

Code: Disable live folder view
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell]

"Logo"="d:\\somefile.jpg"

Code: Restore live folder view
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell]

"Logo"=-

You will need to restart to see the changes.

As always when editing the registry...make a backup first...;)

Replacing folder picture and/or icon I know. My question was simple, I don't want to disable live folders, I wanted only to change view of thumbnails/previews.

But thank you for registry items to disable or enable live folders.

I'm sorry for misunderstanding.

I meant thumbnails/previews of live folders - not displaying files and folders by choice between thumbnails/icons/list or details.

I guess I'm not understanding what you mean.   Sorry.  Can you show a pic of what you want?
