Is this not possible?

The last time I used WindowBlinds was WAY back, like 2001 and 2002. I remember trying to make my Win 98 machine look like XP.

Anyways, I recently installed it again to see if I could make Windows 10 look like 7/8.

Is there no way to make the window title bar match the taskbar color? This is driving me nuts and I have spent too long on it now. When you select either the Diamond skin or the Win8 skin, you can make the taskbar a bold, vibrant color, but active and inactive window bars look pastel. I really want to use a vibrant purple color (think Gamecube), but instead I get pastel purple :\

If you try to force things into submission by turning down transparency and then darkening the color and upping the saturation, it just looks hideous, and not only that, there is visible banding & aliased rips. I loved my Windows 7 installation with using primary colors & no transparency, but I can't recreate it with WindowBlinds like I thought I could. Do I need a different skin?

Take a look at what I'm experiencing: https://imgur.com/a/l9n6ILz

I can boot up my old installation if you want a comparison.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Not really sure what you are trying to get to. But you can try search Wincustomize.com for purple theme : https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/search/purple

or if you into Aero than you can search for Aero styles and recolor those : https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/search/aero

Sounds like it.  I don't know if this is the overall style that you're looking for, but it recolors well.  It might give you a better idea of what to look for in terms of recoloring:

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm just going to have to try to find a better skin to recolor.

This is what W7 looks like for example: https://imgur.com/a/gABceJ1 The taskbar and the window titlebar match without having to screw with it or force something

The ones that are built into Windowblinds assume you will have transparency on, so if you push them out of pale, see through shades, they fall apart. I thought I could get an exact copy of Windows 7 with them though. If I find one that works better I'll post it.

Try the Modern skin that comes with WB. You would have to adjust some of the sliders, but it does color well.
