WBAmp plugin for WB

I'm new and would like to ask for some help regarding WBAmp.

I downloaded the zip file for WBAmp and unzipped it to find 1 .DLL file (WBAmp.dll) and 2 text files. I tried reading the text files to figure out what to do but couldn't.

What am I supposed to do with that DLL file. Do I copy it to WinAmp folder? to WB folder?

Please help.

There are skins that support WBAmp. A good example is dinksDX. Existing skins not supporting it need additional work, like adding sections in the UIS file and adding button graphics to it. Or you can make s skin from scatch. SkinStudio can help you do both.

In short: Just adding WBAmp to a folder does not work.

Thanks MadIce for replying.

Actually dinksDX is the exact skin I was trying to use. I downloaded and installed the skin as instructed in the included instructions. All of the application buttons up top work. However, the WinAmp buttons at the bottom of the skin do not work. I figured that it's because I didn't have the WBAmp plug-in so I downloaded that plug-in. Now don't know what to do with it.

I have checked dinksDX just now. It works here. So we have to find out why it does not on your system.

Do you have ObjectMedia (OM) installed too? In that case it will use OM as the default player. You'll notice an extra icon in the system tray when pushing the player buttons of the skin.

If you do not have OM installed then it tries WinAmp. If WinAmp does not work then maybe you have WinAmp3 installed. WBAmp does not work with WA3. Later this year NullSoft is expected to release versions of WA3 that are compatible with the old WA2 API. That will ensure that WBAmp works with WA3.

BTW: WBAmp should also work with CoolPlayer.

MadIce,

Thanks for all your replies. You're exactly right. I was using WinAmp 3 and that's the problem. Installed WinAmp 2.91 and now it works fine. Still can't get the title scroll to work but it seems that's a problem that lots of people are having.

Thanks again.

The title stopped working with WB4, works with earlier versions: MadIce: Any chance you could do a 'quick fix' for this?

You can also get a plugin for Winamp3 that'll let you use Winamp2 plugins with it it - check the Winamp web site. Only drawback is that it won't actually start WA3 up for you, but you can at least control it once its running.

That's odd, because nothing has changed in WBAmp. I need to check it out and probably contact the WB team about that. * sigh *

It looks like the track title only updates when there's an update to the windows frame, either by clicking the the windows titlebar, or just moving the mouse over the windows buttons (whether it's the standard min/max/close buttons or the media controller buttons)

Chris, this time it doesn't show anything at all.
