Full Battles on; Win7 pro+Version 1.5 of DA (I bought the discs so I'm screwed for patches, that's a different issue)

At any time in a full fleet battle where both sides have fleets, including when combat is over, clicking "Done" on the bottom right to exit the battle, crashes the game to desktop. I tried disbanding my fleet and attacking theirs-my ships v their fleet, letting their fleet attack my ships, my fleet v their ships, my ship v their ship. The only full battle that crashes(when clicking the "done" button) is any fleet v fleet full battle. Forgot to add: Fleet v Starbase was black screen throughout the battle except for one randomly working view and (I think)overhead(?) showed most of the starbase in a very zoomed in view.

Can anyone please direct me to a fix I can make? I've looked around the forum since this morning trying to get things working(my mistake of what to do with my day off, that's on me) and made an account. The disc in the drive not reading isn't a problem(shortcuts/start menu work) though I found lots of threads for that, none on this. Hopefully this was a bug so easily dispatched there wasn't much furor, but some more experienced forum frequenter here recalls it.
