Error - Groupy requires Windows Desktop Manager to be enabled

I'm getting this error when trying to link tabs

Groupy requires Windows Desktop Manager to be enabled

Running win7 sp 1 at work. Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service is running so that should be ok?

Have you tried restarting the Desktop Windows Session Manager service? Sometimes the service will show as running but it has actually crashed. Always a good idea to restart the service to see if it resolves the issue.

If you are using the Windows classic theme or the basic theme the DWM is not enabled.

You will need to enable the Aero theme.

In other words, if you don't have a transparent titlebar with blur under it then the DWM is not enabled.

Looks like my work by default disables Aero, and I was trying to do stuff over Teamviewer which made it worse (haha)

Works once I enabled the Themes service

As with OP, Groupy "requires Desktop windows manager".

I' ve enabled Aero theme, DWM service is running, Themes service is running. Groupy still won't run. Rebooted, reinstalled few times. Nothing.

Win 7 x64 SP1, personal PC. Any suggestions?
