The 'no' topic thread...

Let me start by sharing my poetry...

Titled, FEAR

It keeps me awake when I should try to sleep
It takes away my laughter and causes me to weep
It increases the rhythm of my fragile heart?s beat
And I?m afraid to stand alone on my own two feet?

It?s fear

It keeps my legs hobbled so that I can?t try to run
It takes all or any pleasure out of having any fun
It robs me of my faith and any hopes for my tomorrow
It rapes me of my integrity and fills me with such sorrow.

It?s fear

It disdainfully announces that I?m no good inside
Then, it says I have no reason to feel any kind of pride
And then it mocks the very bitter tears I?ve cried, saying
The world would be better off if only I had died?

It?s fear

It keeps my nerves jangling on the razor's jagged edge
And I'm terrified to jump from the safety of my ledge
It's these moments that stretch my life in long, tortuous hours
as my veins grow cold I fear I've begun to lose my powers...

It?s fear

It lies in wait for me, setting insidious little traps
It grimaces in the mirror, reminding me of my mishaps
It tells me that I have no right to dream dreams any longer
It tries to weaken me when all I want is to be stronger?

It?s fear

It greedily feeds upon itself and it's never satiated
It kicks me in the ass and keeps me mentally berated
It plots to turn my mind into it's evil little toy
It's clever, and it's sinister and wants to steal my joy...

It's fear

It strips me of my dignity so I?m naked, cold and torn
It claws into my soul and rips the masks off that I've worn
It wounds me as it digs until my heart can take no more
Left only in my darkness I'm alone and scared and sore...

It's fear

It tells me that I'll disappoint the people that I love
And no matter how I struggle I will never rise above
It growls and howls and tortures me and spits upon my face
It leaves me feeling helpless in my anguish and disgrace...

It's fear

It tells me I'm not worth anything; that I'm not even real
It tells me that I have no right to think, to want or feel
It tells me that I'm ugly, that I'm useless, that I'm gross
It yells at me until I'm zombie like and I'm morose...

It's fear

It whispers of my doom and it warns me of disaster
It wants to overcome me; yes it wants to be my master
It tells me to trust no one; that true love is not for me
It mockingly reminds me that it will never set me free...

It's fear.

It tells me I am wrong and that I?ll never learn to fight
It questions all my motives even when I know I?m right
It wants me to give up, to quit, and finally to give in
But no matter what it wants?I must never let it win...

Even if it kills me...
It's only fear

Side note: I grew up often malnurished and one of the USA 'poor' many times I'd skip lunch too ashamed to be on the "welfare" list for hot lunch...I amost never ate all day and I was teased, mistreated and made fun of at school and even beat up just for not 'fitting in' for my second hand cloths which was bad enough but coming home to an abusive mother and never having a father figure in my life who even gave a dang about me and when I ran to him out of desperation he took me in only to later try and 'violate' me...Oh yes, I know now deep the rabbit hole REALLY goes.

This might be 'shocking' to some and 'enlightening' to others. I have lived a lifetime of pain and anguish that has brought me to this place in life. People look at me and figure I must be fine and dandy since I'm 'purdy' and all...but I'm not pretty...and I'm not anything but me here...

But, I love poetry, it has saved my heart from so much grief by just 'letting it out' and right now I guess I'm doing that but in a softer and sharing way. Nobody may care. Heck, I just want to let people know something...

YOU ARE OKAY.

YOU ARE WORTHY OF LOVE.

YOU ARE NOT THE PRODUCT OF YOUR UPBRINGING.

BE STRONG.

STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT.

Do not stop loving those whom love you and give ear to your heart!

Ah well, I'm a softy.

G'night, WC...maybe I'll brave it another day.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You might succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far.

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse, that you must not quit.

Keep Swimming by : Unknown

Two frogs fell into a deep cream bowl.
One was an optimistic soul.
But the other took the gloomy view.
"We'll drown," he lamented without much ado,
and with a last despairing cry,
he flung up his legs and said "Goodbye."

Quote the other frog with a steadfast grin,
"I can't get out but I won't give in,
I'll just swim around till my strength is spent,
then I'll die the more content."
Bravely he swam to work his scheme,
and his struggles began to churn the cream.

The more he swam, his legs a flutter,
the more the cream turned into butter.
On top of the butter at last he stopped,
and out of the bowl he gaily hopped.

What is the moral? It's easily found...
If you can't hop out, keep swimming around!

A Rainy Night in New Orleans by : Unknown

It was a rainy night in New Orleans;
At a bus station in the town,
I watched a young girl weeping
As her baggage was taken down.

It seems she'd lost her ticket
Changing buses in the night.
She begged them not to leave her there
With no sign of help in sight.

The bus driver had a face of stone
And his heart was surely the same.
"Losing your ticket's like losing cash money,"
He said, and left her in the rain.

Then an old Indian man stood up
And blocked the driver's way
And would not let him pass before
He said what he had to say.

"How can you leave that girl out there?
Have you no God to fear?
You know she had a ticket.
You can't just leave her here.

You can't put her out in a city
Where she doesn't have a friend.
You will meet your schedule,
But she might meet her end."

The driver showed no sign
That he'd heard or even cared
About the young girl's problem
Or how her travels fared.

So the old gentleman said,
"For her fare I'll pay.
I'll give her a little money
To help her on her way."

He went and bought the ticket
And helped her to her place
And helped her put her baggage
In the overhead luggage space.

"How can I repay," she said,
"The kindness you've shown tonight?
We're strangers who won't meet again
A mere 'thank you' doesn't seem right."

He said, "What goes around comes around.
This I've learned with time - -
What you give, you always get back;
What you sow, you reap in kind.

Always be helpful to others
And give what you can spare;
For by being kind to strangers,
We help angels unaware."

Shmoopy, you're SOOO deep! Thanks for sharing that buetiful poem.

When you come to where the shadows are
And the light ahead seems dim
Put your hand in God's hand
And place your trust in him
You might stumple for a while in the dark
Till he's ready to lead
But while you wait, give thanks and say a prayer
To Him of your great need
Then hold on to his hand
And keep a steady hold
And walk with him thru the promise land
And watch the shadows unfold

---- Dark LuNA

Me too me too, I have a peotic heart!!

and speaking of a no topic thread...

I think fries from MC Donalds should be bought and taken to Burger King and eaten with a Whopper.

...

but that is a tangent.

I am so working hard on my Dark LuNA story. I can't wait until the skin is finished (WB, OB, SysMetrix, QN and maybe icons... not sure)

Ever thought about making a wall that goes with a poem?

I thought that this was a good motivational poem, unfortunalty, I can't find the author:

there is so much time in one's life
it is hard for the mind to comprhend
but it is inevitable that eventually
there will come an end

there once was a man
who spent all his days
inside of his room
soaking up rays

one day
in his old age
he became sick
it became clear
life had reached its limit

the man quickly realized
that nothing had been achieved
he became depressed
and slightly peeved

then suddenly
an idea sprung to mind
the man's life was ending
but he still had time

the man devoted his remaining days
to helping other people in ingenious ways
he went to the school and made the kids feel good
he helped his town the way everyone should

he donated to charity
although the man himself did not thrive in prosperity
he gave away furniture, clothes, and most his earnings
although he did not posess many belongings

one week later when the man was about to pass away
he was content because he had made the world a better place
he was no longer sad depressed or peeved
he simply drifted into a peaceful sleep

forever

Awwwww. /me gives SuperheroCanadian a (((GIANT HUG))) right back. And Shmoopy hugs everyone else with all her might! You guys are all so wonderful! And I loved the poems you all shared, especially the personal ones! I guess I kinda turned this into a poetry thread but feel free to veer.

But...my last poem was a bit sad and blue (written a couple years ago in a very dark time in my life)...so now I shall have to write something cheerful off of the top of my head just for everyone here:

There is a place that is special and the people there I meet
Make me happy to be there, and I’m happy just to greet
So much is shared, so much joy and even sorrows too
But the more that I know I love more of all of you…

When I’m feeling lonely, or just plain feeling down
I know that I can log-on and know you’ll be around
Sometimes I’m not too pithy, sometimes I carry on
But someone’s always here for me, from dusk to early dawn…

Each person here, who wants it, can find a friend true blue
Just remember, once we almost all were somebody new here too,
And if your heart should love it here be kind and polite
And remember peace speaks louder than the one who wants to fight…

No matter your birthplace origin, if you are true of heart and mind
You will find a special niche with us, because we are all humankind…
I’ll always cherish the moments and the love from this sacred place
Wincustomize.com, you have my heart and a smile upon my face!

I took a pic of my precioius baby boy cat for anyone who wants to take a gander...I bought this hand made 'kitty' tent the other day from my NEW vet who's just amazing and VERY thorough and I just know he's gonna save my baby's life!

Anyway, here's the pic...I caught him off guard because he looked at my daughter when she was petting my other boy Leo aka Bubby.

I love him sooooo much! I've already spent thousands of dollars with my other vet and he really angered me...this new vet is awesome!

Let's here it for our pets!

Does that mean you'd be a shmoo or a oopy?

Well, half a Shmoopy is better than none. Sometimes you have to take what you can get. Or is that the other way around? Hope your kitty is well soon.

pjpowell -!

Hmm *big thinky cloud*

Uh...definitely a Shmoo but I hope to always keep the oopy with me.

And thank you bordfryr123...I'm worried like the mother hen I am but I have much hope!
