Start8 in a VDI environment
I would like to know the process behind the enterprise licensing of Start8 in a VDI environment. Our vm's get destroyed every 12 hours and re-created. How would this affect the licensing?
Stardock will be closed for the week starting on Monday, June 29th and we will be returning on Monday, July 6th. We will be monitoring support tickets and forums during this time but expect delays in responses during this time.

Uninstalling the software deactivates it. If you're not deactivating it, you will run into a problem when you go to activate again.
Deactivation would involve a lot more work that we are willing to put in for a simple "delete the VM / Recreate using template" operation.
How does this work? Does it use a UUID to identify the machine?
Anyone? Hello?
Using a corporate license server, how would this work when the VDI virtual machines are deleted on a daily bases and re-created? Is the software intelligent enough to realize that only 3000 licenses are being used at a time? Or on the 2nd day is the license server going to think that we are trying to use 6000?
I've created a ticket for you so we can address your questions easier. You should receive an email from us shortly.
