I want to talk you guys NOW NOW NOW!

Ok, we need a faster way to communicate.

As some of you know, the reason *I* make games is to hang out with you guys. I know that seems bizarre but that it my motivation.

And I'm a little frustrated because I want to be able to chat with you guys quicker.

So...

With that in mind, what you do you guys recommend as a good way for us to talk? Like, could I go onto a streaming channel or something where I can complain about the problems I'm having with the game and you guys can chime in on what you think would make it even better?

For example, tonight I am working on giving the Warlord hero some new starting abilities.  The flaming arrow just isn't doing it for me.  It's..lame.

Anyway, what's a good place I could just jump into and you guys could join and leave as you wish?

i use rockpapershotguns mumble server to host a weekly rpg, im sure they wouldnt mind at all if we used an "extreme geek zone" channel every once in a while to talk about extremely geeky video game zones..

i also have a private voip server that a few good gaming buddies and i use to chat... we're using teamspeak at the moment, but i think mumble is a better application.

voip channels are great.

addition: sorcerer king is wonderful by the way; been too busy to forum.

Just a thought, but doesn't the Stardock twitch channel already allow that? You can talk, play the game (complain about things, show off your developer-version and people can chat? The only problem I see is not everyone is in the same time-zone, or active, many may be at work at the same time. etc. so the room could be a little quiet.)

You could always do a 'feedback' or 'bug-talk' dev-stream a few days after each new build. Ask people questions about what they like and dislike about the new build in the chat... mention the bugs, who's working on what, let people know what bugs are on the internal tracker etc. (As well as testing the water on any controversial changes, see how much resistance you'll have to overcome, how much sugar to add to make it palatable.)

Twitch, with a Twitter mention when you do this would be best bet.

The Star Ruler 2 beta has an awesome in-game IRC channel for just this sort of thing.

or use your own twitch channel and tell us you're on it

How about something fairy wide spread and easily accessible by almost everyone like Yahoo Messenger?

Maybe I am too much mainstream, but wouldn't a private Facebook group do the trick?
