How Can Two Versions Play Together?

Can a galciv2.com guy and a steam guy play a game together?

My friend bought galciv2:ultimate on Steam. I got it on a disk.

His metaverse goes to stardock, my metaverse goes to galciv2.

How can we play a game together?

You can't. GalCiv 2 is singleplayer-only. The Metaverse is basically just a online-leaderboard where you post the score of your game.
