Pre-Ordering LH

I apologize if this has been covered, but I searched and couldn't find a specific answer.

I understand that buying LH gives you FE automatically. What I'm not sure of is if we have to wait until LH is actually released to be able to play the FE thats packaged with it or do we instantly have access to FE as soon as we preorder LH. This question is for preordering from steam.

While it gives you the FE game engine and elements to play LH I do not think it gives you FE for FREE. It's basically the other way around. If you OWN FE and bought it before the end of Dec 2010 you get LH for FREE. But, if you wait and just buy LH then if you want FE (which is a standalone also) then you'll have to pay the price to get it as well. Since those that bought FE AFTER Dec 2010 will have to pay $19.95 for LH. I wouldn't think they would just give away FE just because someone bought LH after the fact.

I don't remember it being said you get FE when you pre-prder LH.

FE and LH are simply different products. LH is built on top of FE, but you do not need FE to play LH.

The confusion comes from LH being marketed as an expansion. Normally, expansions require you to own the original product. In this case you do not need the original product.

With respect, you are confusing things further. FE was not released until october 2012. Nobody who just bought FE is getting LH for free. You are thinking about Elemental: War of Magic.

To the best of my knowledge, the following is true:

(E:WOM = Elemental War of Magic. FE = Fallen Enchantress. LH = Legendary Heroes)

If you pre-ordered or bought E:WOM before November 2010 you are entitled to two free expansions. The first was FE and the second is LH.

If you didn't do the above, but bought E:WOM before 31 December 2010, you are entitled to one free expansion. That was FE.

If you have E:WOM and wish to purchase FE, there should be a discount via the Stardock store after you log in.

And if you have FE and wish to purchase LH, there should be a discount via the Stardock store after you log in.

The price point for LH is 40 $, and if you own FE it is 20$. That is, unless you are getting it for free (see above)

From the FAQ:

How much does Legendary Heroes cost?

If you own Fallen Enchantress then Legendary Heroes will cost $19.99.  If you don't own Fallen Enchantress it will cost $39.99 (since it contains Fallen Enchantress).

I understand "since it contains FE", that you get FE included.

You're right, it isn't exactly clear. My interpretation of "contains" is that you'll only have one complete game called FE:LH. FE would thus not be included.

No I'm not confusing anything read the post and COMPREHEND. Everything I said is EXACTLY true. If you bought FE AFTER Dec 2010 you are going to have to pay $19.95 for LH. I on the other hand and getting LH for FREE because I bought WAR of MAGIC before DEC 30 2010. PFFFFT!

Your earlier post doesn't reflect what you just said. This part

If you OWN FE and bought it before the end of Dec 2010 you get LH for FREE.
End of quote

is blatantly untrue and thus confusing. Anybody who bought FE has to pay for LH as well.

I on the other hand and getting LH for FREE because I bought WAR of MAGIC before DEC 30 2010. PFFFFT!
End of quote

The cut-off date for two free expansions was 31st october, NOT 31st december. Again you make an inaccurate statement, confusing things further.

Please see this post https://forums.elementalgame.com/441421/get;3332335 for an accurate representation of who gets what for free (and other stuff)

My post made the point that the OP was NOT going to get FE for FREE if he bought LH. That's the only point that matters. Quit being so nitpicky nobody cares.

Stop trolling heavenfall, who has been more helpful to us confused parties than you with your lies.

I remember when these offers came out, and Heavenfall is right.

What I am confused on, and confused on ALONE is this:

I already own FE. I preordered LH with discount.

Steam lists me as having FE: LH. I will be patient on getting my Map Pack Key (I bought Map Pack immediately when it came out for FE).

When I play Civ IV: BTS, I am actually playing "Civ 4: Vanilla, Warlords and BTS" all in one, not just "Beyond the Sword" by itself.

My confusion comes from the abstract "Expansialone" language that makes it appear that when playing "Legendary Heroes" you are ONLY playing "Legendary Heroes" and not "Fallen Enchantress + Legendary Heroes". That is, like Civ4 Colonization, you aren't playing Civ4: Vanilla + Colonization.

Now that I have hopefully defined my confusion better, I ask this question.

When playing FE: LH, what am I playing using the analogy above?

ALMOST everything of FE is in FE:LH. A few mechanics were taken out and replaced with improved design. Beyond that, FE:LH contains much new content that was not available in FE.

How do i get discount in steam if i have fe already?

does it appear automaticaly (since steam knows if i have FE) or do i need a ticket?

(im not at home to check myself).

Not sure, but if you have no issues you can probably go to the stardock site and login there to see if you can get the discount, then they will give you a key. I know this is not an answer to your question, but it is a work around (possibly).

If you have FE on steam, it should automatically pick that up and give you a 50% discount on LH when you log into steam.
