CRASH PROBLEM:
The problem has gotten a lot worse. Some time after increasing the RAM of the virtual machine, the game just crashes half way through a turn after loading a saved game. The following message window appears:

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
"
I've tried several things, none of them have worked.
