I know there must be a zillion topics like this already but I've noticed that lots of times people's posts get ignored.

Anyhow, I simply want to update the game so I don't have to stare at 100 Venuses in my game. I bought GalCiv2: Dread Lords several years ago at Best Buy in the United States. I know for sure I played and maybe registered the game on an old now-defunct computer, and if I did register, it was with some long-forgotten email. I have diligently gone through this forum to find responses to people in my situation and have followed all the steps that have been laid out for others here: I've downloaded, registered and verified Stardock Central; downloaded, registered and verified the Gamestop App, etc. etc. Everything that I know of is on the same email.

I eventually stumbled upon the 'Register' page found in the account settings for this GalCiv2 account (also same email). As is my current understanding, this is the last formal registration process that has not been done. I copy-pasted the 28 character, alphanumeric, '0's-not-mistaken-for-'O's, NOT GC- serial number found after clicking 'Update Serial' in the game-launcher, and I receive Error #3: Serial Number Not Registered to this Account.

I now have nowhere else to go but posting in this forum or tossing my problems at the likely overwhelmed folks checking [email protected]. I most deeply want to play this game at its best, but I could still muster on with version 1.0 if need be I suppose. Did the possibility of a younger-me registering the game years ago ruin my chances of updating this wonderful game, or is there some way out that I can still register?
