Is there a way for Custom Races to use a Custom Symbol and Portrait?

Is there a way for Custom Races to use a Custom Symbol and Portrait?

Been getting back into this game again after the steam sale of ultimate edition,,, and I was wondering is there a way for a custom race to have a custom portrait and a custom icon?

I know you can select from a list, but is there a way I can like say drop a jpg into a directory or something and use some images of my own creation for the flag and the portrait?
