Invalid Serial Number?

I bought my copy of Galactic Civilizations II, Collectors Edition, several years ago now. It's been sitting in a drawer with a stack of other PC games for the past two years since my move. I didn't register the game when I bought it, because I did not have internet at that time. Now when I try to register to get the updates for it, it tells me my Serial Number, the one printed on the back of the CD jewel case, is invalid. Do these things have an expiration date of some sort? Tried looking for some way to contact support, ended up here. Hope someone can help.

You can write to [email protected] . They should hopefully be able to help you out. If serial numbers from retail copies can expire by going unregistered for some period, that would be a bad thing.

Thanks Swicord! And yea, expiration dates on serial codes? Preposterous, but I can't imagine a viable reason why the code wouldn't work, retyped it in 3 separate times.

Maybe it had already been registered by a previous person when you purchased it. That's been known to happen.

I'm not sure if you would get that particular message, or one saying that it was already registered.
