(DA) Weapon Bonus (might be another stupid question...)

Hi everybody,
I built the following ship lately:
"FireLancer Frigate"
Medium Hull
Armor 1
Shield 1
Port Armament: Twin Plasma
Starboard Armament: Twin Plasma
Due to the absence of firing arcs (and rear window defoggers, but that's another topic...) in GalCivII, these combine into an attack value of 8.
In GCII:DreadLords, this ship performed quite well when I had the necesary tech.

But in Dark Avatar, I am a bit unsure. The weapons don't combine into one broadside any more. Which brings up the question how the weapon bonus, for example the innate Drengin bonus or the one you can pick with your 10 pick points, adds to weapon values.

Let's assume for simplicity that I have a weapon bonus of +25%, which will change my attack rating from 8 to 10. Will each attack be 2.5 points, or will I get a "2 - 3 - 2 - 3" attack pattern?
The latter would be more powerful, as most games round to integers, and almost all games I have ever played round down. This is esp. important with GalCiv, since the damage figures are so low, (and rounding to integers is therefore very important) and 2.5 would behave like a 2 except that the percentage of hits which score a "2" is a bit higher.
And even if the game subtracts fractional HP values (which I think it doesn't), there would be a risk of having an enemy get away with 0.5/xx HP.

Another question: if the enemy uses missiles (against which my defense is lacking), would my defense count as sqrt(1) + sqrt(1) = 2, or sqrt(2) ?

Thanks in advance for helping a newcomer,
~Beast

Your Weapons/Attack bonus is applied as a supershot which only affects the first shot fired by the first weapon on the ship each combat round.  At low Weapons/Attack values you won't get much mileage out of this, when you have lots of mining starbases on military resources it can mean a win on the first round due to the massive damage it inflicts.

So in my example (4 plasma guns, strength 2 each) I'll get a total of 8+2. That would be a supershot strength of 2+2, i.e. a firing pattern of 4 + 2 + 2 + 2 if I got you right?

With +100% weapon bonus, say through a combination of innate weapon bonuses and military resources, that would become 10+2+2+2.

One related question: Does that apply to a military starbase bonus too, ie to the one they give my ships if they fight near the base?

No, the starbase assist doesn't have any weapon bonus.  I would assume it gets factored in as an extra weapon or weapon(s) on each ship.
